Chateaudun Opéra Mini-hotel

I booked this hotel via booking.com for 4 nights with hope that getting a good respectable hotel for my few days in Paris. I arrived to chateaudun opera hotel on 26 May 2023 late evening and received room no.31.

What I found out when placed my luggage in the room is that:

- in the room there is a very strong smell of dumpness and bed was wet, which is very dangerous for me taking into consideration that I have asthma;

- socket next to the bed was not working properly and was giving sparks, it burned one of my chargers, so I had to use another one next to the table to charge my phone and buy new charger next day;

- bathroom was completely not as on the photo in booking.com it was just a tiny shower place without even segregation inside. Bathroom for me is extremely important and I always book room with a proper bathtub. But room 31 had only tiny shower, which was for me an extreme disappointment as it was not matching what they advertise on booking.com so simply they are lying to people;

- another huge disappointment was the fact that sound and vibration from metro is extremely strong, it was so strong that I could not sleep. And this fact was not mentioned anywhere in booking.com;

- and last but not least, the room is extremely dark, so dark that I even could not understand is it day or night in the morning. Only when I opened curtain I could see a small piece of blue sky somewhere up. Which for me is absolutely not acceptable.

Given all the above mentioned factors, in the morning I went downstairs and ask Frederic-reseptionist for help. He explained me that hotel is fully booked and there is no chance to change my room, only the same type - which is useless.

So I registeted cancellation and refund request via booking.com. And had to spend a whole morning looking for another hotel and relocating, which is another negative point.

Unfortunately, I received a reject from the hotel. Taking into consideration all the facts mentioned above, I was forced to move out of the hotel due to the huge diferrence of what is advertised on booking and what I got in reality.

I have to admit it was not my no show or cancellation due to changed plans, I came and paid fully with hope to get a good hotel but it did not happen. I work very hard to earn every single penny and cannot simply make a charity for not provided services, besides I paid for those three nights to another hotel.

I sent them objection to their refund reject and they again responded that the room is non-refundable. So now I’m taking this to the government authorities and booking,com
