Hôtel Château Frontenac

I’ve stayed at Hotel Château Frontenac before and had good experiences, but this time was truly disappointing. Every night, both my room and my friend’s room were disturbed by loud banging noises, like furniture being dragged, things being thrown, or someone slamming objects around. It was so loud and sudden that we’d get shocked and wake up startled.

We reported it to reception every night. They kept saying they’d “try to find where the noise is coming from,” but nothing was ever done. Eventually, they even stopped answering our calls. We didn’t sleep a single night during our stay.

The Wi-Fi is also very poor. Even though our room was right next to the elevator, we could barely get a connection. In today’s world, that’s unacceptable, especially in a 4-star hotel.

On top of that, the bathroom ventilation was extremely loud. If you turn on the light in the toilet, the fan makes such a strong noise that you can hear it clearly from the bed.

To make matters worse, the breakfast,which used to be one of the highlights of this hotel, has gone way downhill. There’s an unpleasant smell in the breakfast area, the food quality is poor, and the service is careless and inattentive. It’s simply not what it used to be.

But the most unacceptable part of our stay was what happened to my friend’s room. On the first night, her room had a bad smell, so she requested to move to another one. The next day, while we were out shopping, the hotel staff moved all of her belongings without notifying us. They emptied the safe and left her money on the bed in the new room. This means the hotel has access to the safe,and they handled our personal belongings and cash without any consent or presence from us. This is completely unacceptable, invasive, and unprofessional.

For a hotel of this level and price, the lack of responsibility, service, and basic respect for guests is shocking. I truly regret staying here again.
