Reviews
The hotel service was attentive and sincere throughout our whole stay from the moment we checked in. We also enjoyed being able to spend our credit when booking via Capital One flexibly between dining and spa. TVs in rooms included chrome-cast to watch movies and shows and the restaurant and bar were great. Overall a pleasant stay and 5-star experience.
The hotel managers (5 in total) came out and refuse to have 3 of us check into the room. We flew 10 hours from the US to Paris to be rejected by not 1 or 2 managers. Even adding security to the lobby to ensure we don't check it. One manager stated its because we have our toddler son, we would need to get another room. Not sure if these managers know that a toddler cant stay in a room by themselves.
To make matter worse, our friends from Spain were at the same hotel with two of their toddler kids in a smaller room. So tell me the reason, why we were not able to check in. I reserved a duplex room that was larger for a smaller party, and get rejected.
Clearly, its because of the color of my skin possibly. I have no other reason to think its something else News flash Le Cinq Codet, my family is from Paris France, I have visited Paris 13 times, and never been turned down, rejected for a hotel before, or disrespected like this in any country (including America).
Do on to others as you would like them to do unto you. If I customer pays for services, they should have the ability to stay freely and not looked upon differently.
The only good thing about this situation was, we were able to get a better more friendlier hotel (true 5 star hotel) that didn't look at us differently.
The nicest part was definitely the suite. It was very roomy and had a half bath which we loved. Jacuzzi was very warm. Shower was expected to be a little bigger so that we could shower together. The balcony was really nice and private. One of the other things we loved was the location. Very close to a lot of touristy areas. We easily walked to the Eiffel Tower, arc, louvre etc. the location was definitely something this hotel has over others in the area. Also a very safe area.
I believe the 5 star service is definitely not there. We compared it to many 5 stars we stayed at that were similar in what we paid for. They didn’t have a dedicated bellman at the door that makes you feel welcomed every time. Sometimes there were just 1 person at reception and almost felt like a motel vibe in terms of service. Although they did help us with our bags up, the service after that was so so. It just didn’t give the 5 star feeling while walking around.
The breakfast was also something that was 5 star lacking. The buffet options were very limited especially for vegetarian/vegans. The order menu only had 2 options. We asked for a ice latte and they couldn’t even make that. They gave us a Luke warm coffee. Again, comparing to 5 stars we stayed at in Europe and Asia.
The massage was also something that we believe could’ve been better. Despite communicating weeks in advance for a deep tissue massage, we felt that the massages were like we were just getting touched. The masseuses didn’t bother to work on knots and tense muscles. We did communicate that they could go harder but it seems like they weren’t able to.
Overall, we decided we’d definitely stay here again but probably not for the price we paid for. I have seen the dome suite go for $2k plus for one night and at that price point it’s not worth it. The hotel definitely needs to amp up their 5 star qualities.
The bed is one of the most comfortable beds I have ever tried.
The staff are super nice, professional, and English proficient.
I tried the breakfast, and I rate it 8/10
The location is in the heart of the city yet in a very quiet area.
I stayed for 4 nights and I 100% recommend this hotel.
Not even a towel rack
Way too expensive. Didn't even Include breakfast
Smashed my ankle on the bed corner because it was so small
Staff was nice, location is ideal
But not worth the price.
