The Aquila Rithymna Beach is rated as a 5 star hotel possibly because of the proximity to the beach, waterpark and children's facilities, it's an ideal family hotel, however in my opinion it isn't suitable for couples or single people

I said it to the lady at the reception: the staff is so kind and friendly. If they recognize your face after a few days, they greet you with full enthusiasm. The rooms aren’t super big, but enough

I loved the balcony and the bathroom. Only bummer is that when you shower, the whole bathroom floor is wet because there isn’t a curtain or system to close the shower. We also had a lot of ants in the room

Everything was simply perfect!!! The hotel’s look, its beachfront location, and the side pools made us feel as if we had the place all to ourselves- peaceful, pastoral, and relaxing

We stayed at this hotel for seven days and had an amazing time. A lot of the included restaurants have amazing food, breakfast is really great in choice

Apart from that, everything was great: location (next to Rethymno but without the noise or perturbation of a city and with an entire beach for us), the food (very good and with variety) and the staff (special mention to Giorgios from the Beach Bar and all the Grecoland staff)

Rooms were really nice with welcome gifts even for kids too. The service was amazing, staff friendly and helpful. Location is a bit far from town and airport. The experience here was wonderful and very inclusive

We found that the hotel manages to be very kind friendly but without compromising the quality and calmness that you look for a hotel during holidays. First time with Grecotel and not disappointed at all

There are plenty of good rooms and very good service. The beach is with rocks so you need to have swimming shoes. The pool is moderate, but very good. Not so many chairs for lying down near the swimming pool

Food is very different, so everyone can get something to eat, but every day breakfast is the same, some different meals at lunch and some days supper was with fishes. At pool after 11 o clock you need to pay for a drinks

Nice place it has 5 pools, good food but bad wifi connection. In the evening it is quite impossible to have internet connection. There is pool bar all day and in the evening also. Every evening there is a show

My suggestion to the owner: invest in the internet connection and you will have a real 5 stars hotel!

But I strongly suggest booking a room with a pool view, where you can enjoy an evening or two on the balcony. We had different menus every day and the choice was just perfect, not too much and not too little

Er is één mevrouw bij de receptie die zelfs Nederlands spreekt. Our room (nummer 217, 😊) is well sized with private balcony, airco and jacuzzi. It is all kept clean daily, including making the beds door twee lieve dames

If you need anything special there is a small shop on the territory of the hotel or you can go into the town 10 mins, where there are plenty of restaurants and shops, including Lidl

People are usually staying near pool, so almost all sunbeds are taken (and yes, some guests are still having the habit of leaving a towel on a sunbed but showing up 3 hours later)

The pool is very clean and nice, the only downside is that it is still accepted that antisocial people reserve beds with their towels. Those towels should be thrown in the pool

I stayed in this hotel for a week mid-August and it was one of the best vacations I’ve ever had! Obviously, the rooms have everything you need and are very clean and modern

Good sports bar to watch football / Formula one. When crowded the language can be adjusted to the majourity. Good quality and amount of screens. Thats all

The sea beach is rocky, so you need sea shoes, and the waves were big, so it was not allowed to go into the water, but they got an own pool, where the kids can play. The daily room cleaning is really professional

The hotel is nice, new renovated and lies beside the sea, where the view is amazing. You can see the sunrise and the sunset from your balcony. The breakfast is good, the bar is fairly priced

Across the street there are several small shops, where you can buy anything what you need and also a taverna, where the dishes are really tasty and fairly priced

Chose the hotel on reviews and the small size. We have stayed in large all inclusives in Europe before and wanted something smaller. The hotel did not disappoint

The service is really slow, you can wait up to an hour for your food but just order then go back to your sunbed ! They will bring it to you on your sunbed if you want

The sea was really rough and we only could go in twice the whole time we were there ( 2 weeks). The local lifeguards tell you to come out of it’s not safe

The hotel provided towels but only 1 per person per day so we took our own as well , nice to lie on a dry towel after getting wet. There was loads of choice for eating out

The location is 6 km from the old venetian harbour and 100 meters from the beach We are definitely coming back next year Thank to you Rethymno village staff for making us holiday even more perfect

There was cleaning service everyday for our room, beautiful Greek breakfast in the morning, recreational room (pool table & PS5), a big TV in the bar area where you can watch games while you sip your drink in the evening, weekly live performances music or dance

One of the best places I’ve ever stayed. The room we stayed was modern and clean. The beach is just 5 mins walk. The main road with restaurants and bars are also just 5 mins walk. The hotel service here is excellent

As mentioned the hotel is renovated and beautiful, and the entrance room is stunning. We had an extremely tasty breakfast and a great coffee with an orange juice. There is also parking just in front of the hotel

I will not say 'it was like home' because it was better than home actually :)) The last day we met the owner and we were given a small parting gift, olive oil from their own olive groves
