Such lovely hospitality. Our apartment had everything we needed and the location was a short stroll away from a lovely stretch of beach. The staff worked tirelessly to provide us with wonderful service. Thank you for a fantastic stay to everyone here.

My husband & I booked a week here after seeing the consistently excellent reviews, we weren’t disappointed! The place is immaculately clean, apartment was cleaned daily and my pyjamas folded and on the bed which I thought was a nice touch. Plenty of kitchenware to use and we regularly cooked our own breakfast or dinner in the room. Beach is a 5 minute stroll away and there’s a car rental at the end of the road we rented a car from for a few days as well. Spent a day at the pool and it’s lovely and quiet with plenty of sun loungers available to use. Lots of places to eat nearby. My husband had a nasty fall one day whilst out and about and after noticing his bandages the staff were v caring asking about how he felt & the guy (I assume manager/owner) checked up on him every day after that to see how he was. Would definitely stay again in future.

We recently stayed at Mary Hotel in Platanes, and it exceeded all of our expectations! Olga on reception set the tone on our arrival with the most charming of welcomes. This family-run hotel has a wonderfully warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive. The staff are incredibly friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with anything you need – their personal touch truly made our stay unforgettable.
The rooms were spotless, spacious, and modern, with extremely comfortable beds and a well-equipped kitchenette, with everything you could possibly need. We especially appreciated the daily housekeeping service. The spacious balcony overlooked the pool. The pool area is beautiful and always kept clean. The breakfast was exceptional, wonderful selection of eggs and local foods, with owner Jenny’s home made marmalade – a perfect way to start each day.

The location is ideal – just a short walk to the beach and close to a variety of restaurants, shops, and bus stops, making it easy to explore the island. We loved being in Platanes, as it offered a charming and peaceful setting while still being close to Rethymnon and other beautiful attractions in Crete.

Shout out to Konstantinos, - we left our valuables on top of the safe when we left. He arranged for my passport, English money, credit cards and watch to be delivered to me in Rethymno in time for our flight!

Overall, Mary Hotel is an incredible value and a true gem in Crete. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, comfortable, and friendly place to stay. We can’t wait to return!

The room was very clean and comfortable. The kitchenette was fully equipped. Stuffs were very friendly. Great location for driving in and out. Pavlos Beach was 200 meters away. You can take a bus to Rethymno old town rather than driving. For for shopping, Lidl was 5 mins. away on foot. We had a lovely stay at the Mary Hotel, with our friends, hotel is very clean, the staff are all very friendly, room service very good. All in all a very enjoyable stay, thank you. We will be returning soon. Would recommend to anyone. Thank you all.

We've stayed just for one night. If we knew that the place offers such great accommodation, we would rearrange our trip and stayed much longer. The complex is quiet, two pools with the area for kids. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast was at additional price, but it totally worth it! Our triple room was amazing: good size, very clean, comfortable beds, nice balcony. We loved everything! We are already planning to come back next year with our extended family and just enjoy the relaxed vacation. Thank you Olga and the rest of such professional team!

From arriving in the early hours of the morning and being greeted by the night manager (a proper character) with a nice cold drink, to leaving after 10 excellent days rest i really have to say it was a pleasure, very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff, the evening barman was a great character too, loads of stories told, the front desk team were super helpful with absolutely everything, the room was very good, we have a duplex which suited the 3 of us perfectly, very clean, well kept rooms and grounds, great pool area (there are a couple) with no sunbed issues at all, plenty to go round, excellently placed in relation to the town with restaurants, Coffee shops and bakeries right on your doorstep, overall an excellently located, friendly place to stay. Thank you to all at the Mary, very much appreciate everything you did to make our holiday great.

An amazing hotel perfectly situated close to the beach. The rooms were of a very high standard and cleaned every day. The staff very friendly and helpful would go out of their way to accommodate you. Close to all the shops and restaurants, if wanted to go to the old town of Rethymnon only a short journey and very cheap at 10 euros in a taxi. Would highly recommend this hotel.

This is a really lovely small scale family hotel. The welcome was warm and friendly and the accommodation was excellent. We had a room on the ground floor at the back of the hotel (as pictured) which was nice and quiet, and being able to step onto the poolside from our room was so convenient. There were plenty of sunbeds and lots of room around both pools so it never felt crowded. We had room only, but the breakfast looked good, and when we had lunch in the hotel it was always very nice. The kitchenette is small but easily good enough for our needs, and had a good size fridge. The location is convenient for the beach and there are lots of restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. The old town needs a taxi but they are very quickly available (1-2 minutes) and it's the same coming back (always EUR10 each way) The hotel staff were extremely friendly, helpful and genuinely welcoming. This is a very nice place, very well managed, and the people are lovely.
