Mary Hotel & Mary Royal Suites

We have just arrived home after a wonderful week in Crete. Mary hotel was perfect for us. Very spacious room with balcony overlooking the pool. Our children loved the swimming pool and we were all very comfortable in our room. The hotel is extremely clean and well maintained and the staff are all so welcoming and friendly. Location is perfect for restaurants, access to beach and Rethymno town. We hired a car for 4 days so we could explore further afield too. We would absolutely recommend Mary Hotel for a relaxed, comfortable holiday.

this hotel is really outstanding : the staff all very helpful, friendly and diligent, our room big enough for 3 people (kitchenette and balcony included) and uncredible clean. we especially enjoyed the varied breakfast and the 2 pools (we used them every day - morning and evening) with a lot of deck chairs. hotel owner is present every morning and speaks a few words with her guests - also barmen and receptionist very entertaining and attentive, at the bar you can also order small things to eat during the day (very good!). also pool/beach towels available (€ 2,5 each). in front of the hotel big parking space for the rental car. very near (3 minutes to walk) to the wonderful beach. if your are sporty you can walk/run along the beach to the next town rhetymnon, which is only 4 kilometers away. also bus station very near, bus runs every 30 minutes in both directions. the village platanes itself doesn't offer much except taverns, supermarkets, car rentals and tourist shops - a good hotel is therefore the more important and we highly recommend this hotel.

Well what I can I say, we have just returned from spending a week at Mary Hotel and Mary Royal Suites and it was fantastic, so fantastic that I am seriously considering booking for next year. The apartments are clean, spacious and have everything you could want. If there is anything missing, which I highly doubt I’m sure if you asked at Reception they would find the item for you. We stayed Bed and Breakfast and again I couldn’t fault the variety of foods that were on offer and these were replenished throughout the hours of breakfast 8:30-10:30. You were always greeted warmly and wished a nice day. We had two teenage boys with us and it was their first experience of self catering as we had always opted for all inclusive. The boys even commented “this is how they wanted to experience a Greek Holiday” We spent days by the pool and also the Beach, no problem with getting a sunbed around either of the two pools, we did not have to reserve any. The Beach was within walking distance and we paid €8 for two sunbeds, chair, table and parasol, bargain of the holiday considering prices elsewhere. I have a disability but could manage the distance easily. In fact even the restaurants were within walking distance. It’s been a few years since I’ve been able to enjoy a holiday rather than feel a hindrance to my husband and children. The snack bar at the hotel was very reasonable too for the portion sizes. I would definitely recommend the Club sandwich. As our holiday drew to a close we were feeling sad about returning to the rain in the Uk, however waking up on the last day to our gift of Olive Oil was a really really nice touch. They also have two shower rooms (beautifully decorated and very modern) to use if you are having a night flight like we did. They even provide nice fluffy towels to use. I really felt like to owners and all staff wanted to go above and beyond to make you enjoy your holiday. On our first day, I witnessed the gardener or ground maintenance walking and smelling all of the beautiful roses in the garden. At this point I felt it wasn’t just a job to them and they really took pride with their work. I can honestly say I’m converted from going all inclusive and staying in large resorts to small and friendly. Well done Mary Hotel and Mary Royal Suites for a fabulous holiday were memories have been made to last a lifetime.

We had a lovely time here! As a single mom traveling with teenage boys, I felt so welcomed and supported. The staff were incredibly warm and helpful — always ready to assist with planning day trips that suited our little family. The hotel is perfectly located: close to the beach, nice local restaurants, shops, and just a short trip to the beautiful town of Rethymnon. The food was delicious, and we truly enjoyed the relaxed and friendly atmosphere. I loved the beautiful decor and vibe in the hotel— very inviting and tastefully done. The boys enjoyed the gym and the pool table. Top of the bill: every time we arrived or left, we were greeted with a big smile and a genuine ‘kalispera’. It made us feel truly welcome. Highly recommended!

From when we arrived until we left, the staff could not do anymore for us. The location was perfect for both the small town and the excellent beach. The hotel was spacious as were the rooms/apartments. Lovely view from our 1 bedroom apartment over the pool and very quiet bar. If you wanted food you could get snacks small meals in the bar or you could shop at any of the local supermarkets. Staff at the hotel were really friendly and helpful and the cleaning staff were excellent and very thorough. All in all excellent place to spend quality time on your holiday

We had a wonderful stay! The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-organized. Breakfast offered a nice variety each morning, and the pool area was lovely—with both pools including a baby pool, which was perfect for families.

I have just returned from my 6th stay at Mary Hotel. As always the warm welcome and hospitality received is second to none, the hotel has a calm, relaxing atmosphere, is spotlessly clean and the staff friendly and very helpful. The newly renovated reception is a lovely area to sit and relax in and the renovated breakfast buffet area, having been enlarged and with the addition of more hot plates, now offers even more choice of delicious traditional dishes, which change everyday, along with the homemade cakes, pies, meats, cheese and fruit etc. Thank you to Jenny for the lovely homemade dishes and jams which my family and I really enjoyed. There are lots of sun beds and two lovely swimming pools and a baby pool to choose from so there is plenty of opportunity to relax and cool off. With the beach just a few steps away down the road to the left and the shops, tavernas, supermarkets, bus stops and taxis to the right at the top road everything is very convenient. I highly recommend at a stay at Mary Hotel and Mary Royal Suites, whether exploring the island or looking for a relaxing few days.

Lovely place. Quiet with very friendly staff. All rooms are clean and functional. Cleaners came every day, and replaced our towels. We enjoyed it so much we have booked for next year. Two lovely pools to choose from, no rush for sunloungers as there’s always some available. There is a gym with very good equipment like free weights and machines. If self catering you can purchase breakfast for 15 euros. Food is available throughout the day and are freshly prepared. Food/drinks reasonable price matching the local bars/restaurants. We kept our room until 3pm instead of vacating at 11am. At no extra cost. There are luggage storage and showers available for getting ready before departing. Beach close by although it’s a bit rough and stoney. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby all of very good standard. Use trip advisor to search as we did and we ate well for good value. Bus stops nearby to travel Into the city. You have to get a ticket from the kiosk nearby or supermarket first though. These were €1.40 each way per person. Taxi into city is €12 each way. Would highly recommend this hotel. We had a lovely stay. Thank you and see you next June.

Such lovely hospitality. Our apartment had everything we needed and the location was a short stroll away from a lovely stretch of beach. The staff worked tirelessly to provide us with wonderful service. Thank you for a fantastic stay to everyone here.
