Villa Andromeda

Our room was architecturally gorgeous, huge, quiet, fully equipped, the hotel grounds were delightful, the view from our room and from the balcony was spectacular and the hotel location was fantastic, a beautiful walk along the water to the old town, but what made this hotel so unforgettable was the amazing staff. Helpful, cheerful, encouraging, accommodating, kind, thoughtful, I’ve run out superlatives. Highest possible recommendation.

Cannot recommend this place enough. 12/10. The staff were so thoughtful, responsive and kind. The view from the hotel is absolutely stunning and the rooms are spotless and have all the trinkets you need (glasses, corkscrew, plates and cutlery). Breakfasts are lovely and they go over and above to accomodate special requests. Pool/garden area is lovely and plenty of chairs of every type to relax in. Had some complications with arrival date, illness and an injury and they went over and above to be helpful. Thank you so much Emmanouela, Anna and the rest of the wonderful team at Villa Andromeda. We had the best stay!

I loved this place. It was the former German embassy to Crete. The building across the street was the former Greek embassy to Crete. Considering Greek and Crete united in 1913, that gives you some ideas of the age of the building. The hostess - Anna - was so welcoming, and gave great food recommendations. We stayed in room 3 on the main floor and had a walk out patio to the pool. The breakfasts are great, and we had them on the patio each morning overlooking the sea with great views Chania’s harbor proper. The proximity to the Thalassino Ageri seafood restaurant is a huge plus. If you stay at the Andromeda, make it a point to walk down there for dinner. The only potential down side to this location is that the AC didn’t get to set point (never hit 20C and stuck at 22C). The HVAC might be a bit undersized or dated or just needs a tune up. Also, the gated parking is great, but be very careful turning onto the street below as there are significant blind spots when pulling out. All in all - great five days here and highly recommended.

This place is absolutely gorgeous. The building itself is a historic mansion and there's also a large outdoor space with eating areas, deck chairs, a pool, and a beautiful garden. Our room was really special, a two-story space with a marble spiral staircase and a vaulted ceilingin the bedroom. The location is in a quiet residential area, but still only about 15-20 minutes' walk away from the city centre. It's also only a 5-minute walk away from the Archaeological Museum, which is well worth a visit.
The breakfast was delicious & service was excellent, and they were very accommodating to requests even beyond the items that were included on the form - they told us to write in whatever else we wanted. You can also choose where you want your breakfast served - we ate in the garden next to the pool.
The staff were all very lovely as well. They helped us when we had to leave very early for a flight, and arranged for breakfast to be delivered to our room the night before. They also gave us a mini bottle of wine when we arrived as a welcome present, which was a nice touch - we enjoyed it on our last night, on the balcony watching the sun set over the ocean.
To anyone driving in, the parking is a bit confusing - you have to drive in down the alley that runs behind the building to get in.

Amazing place, with a pool and a stunning view on the city and the sea. The services were impeccable and the staff was very handful in helping us reserve restaurants, providing any useful information.

Rooms were nice, clean and spacious.
The breakfast were delightful and on point every single morning as we ate by the pool in the beautiful garden.

The only problem was the air conditioning, very loud and not efficient.

Best hotel I've ever stayed at. That's not an exaggeration at all! We've been recommending this place to everyone who has told us they're considering coming to Crete. The heated pool is to die for, the people at reception are unbelievably friendly and respectful and the rooms are like mini palaces.
