royal sun is the most incredible hotel i’ve stayed at! facilities and amenities are amazing and similar to that of a 5 star hotel. from the free laundry room, free shuttle to and from town, on-site car rental, daily excursions, delicious breakfasts to the rooftop restaurant with stunning sunset views, every area was so thoughtfully planned out. service was exceptional too! staff were extremely helpful...
Emma, Maria, Nikolas and all the Reception Staff...what a Team!!
I would like to thank you for the incredible work you did with us during our stay at the hotel.
Thanks for the warm welcome, and all the help with restaurants, bookings, suggestions, 100% availability always smiling.
You really are 5 Star Hotel levels, no doubts!!!
Please say thanks to the patient driver of the shuttle.
A big thank...
Loved it! We felt like we'd stumbled on a closely guarded secret. What a beautiful place. The staff were ever so friendly, the rooms cleans and spacious, amazing views, the breakfast filling and tasty, the evening food brilliant and having a large pool and the free shuttle to town made us feel like we had the best of everything. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone. Obviously, leaving...
Our stay at Royal Sun was wonderful. We enjoyed very comfortable rooms, nice pool area, excellent breakfast and dinner in Michelin-class restaurant The Hill with an amazing view over Chania city. The free transfer service to Chania Old Town and back (shuttle bus goes every 30 minutes) offered by hotel is definitely a plus! Instead of having three, the hotel is absolutely worth four stars.
We arrived at the hotel and didn't regret it for a moment. It was worth every euro, the hotel offers a lot - car rental, transportation to the city and back, breakfasts, and a restaurant that is open from morning until night (also very good). The service is kind and full of energy, they addressed every request and even placed an order from a restaurant to the room
The room was immaculate, spacious, and beautifully decorated, with a stunning view of Chania. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the attention to detail in cleanliness and design was impressive. Breakfast each morning was a delight, with a wide selection of fresh, delicious options. I would highly recommend Royal Sun hotel
to anyone looking for luxury, comfort, and top-notch hospitality.

A marvellous understated hotel , amazing location in the town , with beautiful views . The restaurant downstairs serves breakfast . The staff can't do enough for you - lovely eggs each morning . In the evenings , they serve a selection of excellent steaks . Staff are well informed , and really on it . Our first time in Chania , but it won't be the last .
WOW .. what can I say but simply brilliant ! My husband and I stayed for 11 nights in this gorgeous boutique hotel and it certainly didn’t let us down. From the minute that George ( our hotel transfer) picked us up from the airport to the our fabulous welcome from Maria and ongoing hospitality from all of the team, thank you Katrina, Heias and lefteris . We absolutely loved our stay in the fabulous...
Fantastic location. Very professional staff. I enjoyed the breakfast. Our room, the Wood room had a fabulous view of sunrise and sunset from its little balcony and a great view of the harbor from in the room. The soundproofing was great. Even though the harbor was very crowded and busy late into the evening we did not hear a thing. It is in a pedestrian only zone so be prepared to walk a block or so...
Great location! A real “gem” in the centre of Chania’s port. Lovely boutique hotel, large rooms, comfortable setting, staff were friendly and very helpful! Breakfast was amazing! Dinner at the same restaurant was also excellent! Highly recommend! Would definitely stay there again! Only con was parking was limited.
We stayed in History! The original stonework was kept when rebuilt. Stayed in the mosaic suite, absolutely stunning, big shower, very comfortable bed ( queen +)
Double glazed windows so you don't hear the night life.
Restaurant underneath for breakfast which was full breakfast, yoghurt, fruit, pastries, eggs, salmon, everything you could need.
Staff friendly & caring, full of helpful local places....
Ideal location, very good place, but not worth the extremely high price. Very good service, rooms are spacious and nice, but a couple of things didn’t work well. Breakfast was fine but nothing special. Would be 4-5 stars if not quite so expensive.

The hotel was nice, even though the room was a bit small. The view was beautiful, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was great, and I especially enjoyed the breakfast. I will definitely come back again.
This hotel is beautiful. The staff are the nicest people and so friendly. The breakfast is over and above anywhere I have been.
If you are lucky enough to come to Chania this is definitely the hotel to stay at.
This property has ruined it for all the other hotels! Best service, the staff is beyond friendly and helpful!! You feel completely spoiled! The room was beautiful! They thought of everything to make your stay elevated!! We can’t say enough good things about this hotel and the people who work there. We will never stay anywhere else when we go to Chania. Every hotel we stay at from now on will be compared...
No matter the room size, facilities or hotel service, they are all excellent
This is the worst hotel in Greece from Athens all the way to Heraklion in Crete to Chania.
If you were in a three-star hotel for 1,000 a night, I would think you were pretty good, but if you said that you were in a five-star hotel for 2,400 a night, I would find it ridiculous.
It was already noon when we arrived in Chania. I was really looking forward to checking into the most expensive hotel on this...
The first thing we did during our stay was a little unpleasant, but our Ctrip butler Jin Lei followed up and solved the problem. Thank you very much! Georgia, the front desk clerk at the hotel, also gave us a lot of help and warm service. This vacation ended successfully. Hilton is a good choice.

Good location in the edge of the old town. Strange entrance where you have to climb upstairs in order to get the elevator. Weird disabled lift where you have to climb over the metal bannister to get the lift.
Very good basic hotel friendly and helpful staff
Very clean and well situated
Bathroom was very clean & modern. Bedroom was clean as well with a comfortable bed. Big terrace / balcony area with a great view.
Breakfast was great value for money with lots of tasty options, I even saved the sandwich everyday for my lunch due to the filling options provided.
Location was dead centre in Chania allowing great accessibility to all the local sights, restaurants & views.
Location was good for bus station and old town. Room was clean and tidy. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Only stayed one night as we had to catch flight the next day. The only disappointment was that the roof terrace was closed off and we was looking forward to a telaxing drink and view of the town.
Good location, at 5-10 minutes walking distance from the port, not in a loud area but close to the city center, friendly and helpful staff, clean room, comfortable bed, nice large balcony. Cons: the bathroom doesn't have any type of hangers or shelves for the towels/toiletries; the place feels a bit old; no parking place, but we found public parking on Mark. Mpotsari street and nearby streets (10 minutes...
Great location and really helpful staff, the rooms are basic but all you need. Only issue we had to make others aware of is the cleaner leaves the balcony doors slightly open after cleaning (assume for fresh air) and we had some items stolen, we assume from the neighbouring balcony as only they could access this and they checked out the same day. So would recommend asking for cleaners to keep doors...

We are delighted with our stay at Elektra Hotel (Suites).
Positives:
Elektra Suites has a separate reception and a swimming pool.

The room maintenance is worth a special mention with towels being exchanged daily and the room tidied up perfectly.

It took me a while to write this review because it was so sad to leave! 🥹 Excellent service from the start, booking with Tony. We had a beautiful room with sea views and pool view. Great location by the sea, with super great people, such a good atmosphere, feeling warmly welcomed. We stayed in family, 2 adults and 4 kids of 19, 15, 10 and 6 years old. 5 minutes walk from the beach to take a bath. Count on the advices of the Elektra Beach Hotel personnel on trips. A lovely small hotel with the nicest of staff, everyone so helpful and happy it was a pleasure. The room was good, we would have liked a bath but the shower was good. The reataurant was superb and the breakfast offered good variety. The walk into town was OK for a fairly fit older person but walking back after dark would be tricky across the unmade up track. So saying, taxis were readily available...
For our honeymoon, we decided to stay at Alexis hotel and our stay was absolutely amazing. The staff is very friendly, always available for help and questions, the room was very comfortable and clean. Great find, with a 1st class restaurant. Brilliant views. It has straightforward access to the city centre, via the 21 bus.
Great hotel in beautiful location, the view was amazing. The Hotel is near well organized beaches, the breakfast was delicious and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is around 25 min walking dostanie from Chania old town- there are electric buses that stop near the hotel but the walk is very pleasant along sea shore. Great place for your stay in Chania, we will definitely choose this...
Stayed at the hotel for 6 nights and had a very relaxing time. The staff are friendly from those at reception to the wonderful lady that welcomes you for breakfast each morning. Overall was OK,a bit away from town, but free bus going there was a bonus. Lovely view from balcony, spoilt a bit by the bins. Breakfast was fab, everything you need to start the day. Only the dinner for us was strange. On half board they give you 20 euros credit.....to cover one meal...so we where salad deprived! In Greece! As main courses had very little vegetables.

A very nice stay
The reception was always helpful, when we needed any kind of advice. The room was perfect, and the cleaning was also spot on - with sweet and kind cleaning staff. This was a great place to stay! Dimitris and the rest of the staff were super accommodating and very helpful. They helped us organize rides to and from places in Chania when it wasn’t walkable and were very clear with their communication. Some of the nicest people to have as hotel staff. The view from the outdoor areas was stunning and countered the dates indoor facilities especially the rooms. This is clearly not a 5 star hotel. The meals are all buffet style and the layout makes it difficult to navigate and work out what to select.

Poor customer service and breakfast
Me and my mum stayed here for a week. The hotel is excellent. Excellent stay.
The staff is very helpful and full of recommandations. The view from the room is very beautiful as the pool on the roof top. Rooms are clean.
Large breakfast choice with local dishes.
SanSal and the employees provides exceptional service. The rooms and the view where clean and modern. The food at the pool bar was very reasonable and tasty. I will definitely be back to this hotel.
It's not a very big hotel, with six or seven floors and four or five rooms on each floor. The room faces the sea, the view is great, and I fall asleep every night listening to the sound of the waves. The facilities in the room are average, the service is in place, the location is a little remote, and the facilities nearby are average, but it's a ten-minute walk to a relatively prosperous place, overall...
they really take care of every request and will help to find solutions to meet your needs.
The hotel staff was very enthusiastic and upgraded the room for free. The room was very spacious and clean. The terrace had a beautiful view, facing the sea, and you could see the lighthouse. Incredible service. Super accommodating. A beautiful hotel overall. I’ll be staying here again in the future.
Beautiful hotel with clean and comfortable rooms. Staff went above and beyond during our stay by having breakfast ready earlier than usual accommodate our early departure and having a boxed lunch prepared for us. One of the best hotel experiences I have had.
This is a lovely hotel in an elegant old building. The rooms are fully modernised and the staff couldn't be more helpful. It is in a quiet spot which is a delightful 20 minute walk into Chania old town. Breakfast in the hotel garden is a joy. I can even forgive the cold fried eggs. Highly recommended.
A nice location, 30 minutes' walk from the old city center of Chania. They have a fairly large parking area. Breakfast was good and could be enjoyed indoors or on the terrace. Very basic hotel with nice view to the beach and the sea. Elderly hotel keepers are nice. Hotel reception is in the taverna which is overpriced and food is nothing special. Personnel of the taverna are pretty weird and seems that they are drunk every day. Also they are smoking inside the restaurant and in the kitchen. The cocktail bar next door is ok and the personnel there is normal.
All of the rooms has really nice sea view from the balcony which is really nice. The staff of the hotel is very friendly. Location is perfect, only few meters to the beach and just 15 minute walk to the Chania Old Town. The room is really bold but it does the job.
At first - Elena Beach and Elena Selinou are two different hotels. Elena Selinou is located at Selinou street, just 100-150 meters from the beach. A beautifully restored hotel in the middle of the traffic free, old Turkish quarter in the centre of Chania. A family run business where care for guests is the priority. Lovely rooms, superb breakfasts and a delightful roof garden. Spitting distance from several excellent restaurants and close to the harbour. We really didn't want to leave.

If you’re hoping to walk out the door and onto the beach, this is the place for you! Everyone who worked there was kind and helpful, and I loved having a view of the sea. It was fun to be close to Old Town and the Venetian Port as well.

Very friendly. Recommend the rooms with the Seaview.
Excellent authentic budget hotel. Fantastic staff, location and service. That’s why we’re going back in a few weeks time. Hooray!
It is more a guesthouse than an hotel. It is in a good location, right in front of the beach. For unpretentious people, it is a good choice, because it is convenient for the beach, and the old town can be reached in twenty minutes on foot. Beautifully appointed room, only complaint was location of toilet behind the bathroom door, not ideal for a large person. Aratee’s recommendation for Tamara restaurant was great.
Breakfast was fantastic 🍳🍳🍳🍊🍇🍓🍎🍌
Thank you for most enjoyable 2 nights
If you come by car, the landmark is Sklavenitis. There are many roadside parking lots in the alleys nearby. If you are worried about your car being hit, it would be safer to find a parking lot.
Parking nearby and walking distance to the accommodation are very close, great accommodation environment. The view from the balcony is really beautiful.
The room was well decorated, new and clean. The room and bathroom were big enough and I was very satisfied. The view from our room balcony was amazing.
The breakfast was simple and not much choice but it was ok.
The reception was in the house next door. This hotel is in an alley. If you drive, you can park on Talos square for free. It is very convenient to walk to the port in about 7 minutes.

The location is excellent and quiet. It is within a ten-minute walk from the bus center. Next door is a restaurant highly recognized by locals, which is not expensive. Just around the corner, you can reach the bay and the lighthouse. The downside is that there is no elevator. But climbing one or two floors is still acceptable.
Very very nice. Great location!
Superb location. We upgraded to a suite with a spa bath. Lovely view overlooking the harbour. Free water in the fridge. Very spacious room. Breakfast was very good. A lot of choice.
