Reviews
We stayed for 1 day, the room was stuffy with an air-con that on full speed didn’t do much. Surprisingly the bathroom was brand new, the rest of the room looked like it has seen better days. We had a balcony, but the room itself was very very small.
There is a fridge and a safe in the room, but you have to leave your room keys at the reception.
The concierge was helpful, he ordered us a taxi and checked us in very quickly.
The lifts are small, so if you have a lot of language or / and a buggy you might need to take it a few times.
Overall, you get what you pay for. If you need a hotel for one night definitely not a bad option, as it located very centrally and only 15 min by car from / to the airport (taxi is €20)
BUT, room is tiny especially the showering place, hallway and the room are full of air spray smell, I guess it’s because they allow people to smoke in the room, so the cleaning staff needs to spray it heavily. This is also a very old hotel that you hear neighbors and upstairs if someone talks or walks or moves chairs. Internet connection is extremely slow. Good map cannot even be opened. YouTube does not load.
Right in the center, the location was amazing, It had a lot to do within walking distance, I had to take a taxi to the beach but taxi stand wasn't a far wallk
Negatives: old building, hot rooms, loud from outside and very low quality old room doors that you can hear everything from outside (I woke up several times overnight by other residents passing by outside my room).
- There was little friendliness and service from the first man we met at reception. There was another one later that was a little more pleasant, but overall a hotel I will avoid the next time.
-room is very clean, modest but clean, and has enough space. Wouldn't like to spend all the day in, but to sleep it's perfect. Also, beds aren't military thin, and are quite comfortable actually
-I don't know if they have accessible rooms for wheelchairs or disabled people but the room I was in was not
-a bit of noise is to be expected since you're in the center, and one of the most animated places in Iraklio, but I personally like it because it shows the place lives
-the receptionist is actually quite nice if you speak to him in greek
-the rules to enter and leave (leaving the key to the reception, no strangers allowed) make me feel safer, that way you reduce the possibility to have robbers, or lose the key outside
-the location is ideal
