The location is beautiful, clean, neat, and well mentained. I do not recommend room 203 because the position is right under the concrete arch and it is very hot at night but otherwise rooms are ok, spacious, well placed with air conditioning and balcony to every one. We liked basically everything. The location is very good: it is near to restaurants and shops, to the beach and to the bus. The facilities: the kitchenette, the small playground for children, the pool which was clean and nice. The staff is very nice and helpful.

Excellent staff, pretty good accommodations and location. We stayed for one night, had the ground floor apartment. Very clean and tidy. Was mini kitchen with everything you might need and there is a huge balcony where many flowers (in the evening terrific aroma).

We were dropped off by the taxi at the wrong hotel and when we arrived at the hotel Eleni Palace we had a great reception from staff. Coming away with two grown up sons we were placed in a family room and then the manager toldusweneededa bigger room and up graded us to a huge suite with an open balcony which has amazing views. Staff are amazing cannot do enough for us.

A wonderful week at Castro hotel. The rooms are clean, the staff is kind and helpful whenever is needed. Food is fresh and delicious. Everyone is smiling and it is the perfect location for families. We originally booked to stay at another hotel in the area and were redirected here last minute - so we were a little worried as we didn’t pick it ourselves! However the rooms are very modern and newly renovated. We found the double bed comfy too, which was a relief! It was our first time in Crete and I had the most amazing time at Castro hotel and thanks to their friendly staff our vacation was without a doubt the best experience we could have had.I recommends Castro hotel from the bottom of my heart! I feel conflicted about my stay here. The staff were very nice and helpful and the hotel was generally nice. However, my room was really nothing like advertised, and it was quite dated and dirty, with dead insects, black mould in the shower, beard hairs on the floor and more in the bed, broken curtains, broken toilet roll holder etc etc. I didn’t want to complain at the time but it was a very disappointing...

The room is small, bath also. The view is in the hill, no view just 2m. The pool is on top of the hill and the stairs are recessed in hill. It is far f from down town with all history. And on the evening a lot of crickets-like singing loud.

Pros: The rooms are great -- air conditioning, curtains, hooks, lockers, and no noise from the street. The atmosphere is also great, as there are places for guests to congregate or spread out. Not to be missed is the roof. Cons: The showers could use a facelift and some plumbing work. Thankfully, there is an air vent.
