Reviews
We did not get a renovated room but it was still nice and honestly I would have preferred it with the beautiful dark hardwood furniture, large space, and balcony with gorgeous views!
It’s a relaxed hotel and has tons of space for conventions/ competitions. It has multiple pools. Restaurants, bars, lounging area and convention rooms. I highly recommend this place for large groups that need space and top notch hospitality. The hospitality manager makes it 5 stars with just him alone. We want him in the US for our hotels!
First off, our room.. Breathtaking... if you find alleyways and dumpsters with feral cats 'breathtaking.' The ‘ocean view’ they advertised turned out to be the back end of a building that looked like it hadn’t been renovated since the Cold War. I’m pretty sure the cats had better accommodations than we did.
The room itself was a masterpiece of bad design. The bed was so lumpy it felt like I was sleeping on a pile of laundry, and I'm pretty sure the carpet was older than I am, with a smell to prove it. The air conditioner sounded like a jet engine taking off, which made for an interesting lullaby. But hey, at least it drowned out the sounds of the cleaners shouting at a 7 year old next door because he took towels out of the room.
The elevator ride up was like being inside a very slow blender, rattling and groaning with every floor like it was performing its final farewell. Every ride was an anxiety-inducing experience as the lift shuddered and groaned like it was deciding whether or not to drop us straight to the basement. We got to know our fellow guests pretty well during our 20-minute rides to the second floor. At one point, I thought we might actually have to spend the night in there, honestly, it would've been an upgrade.
Let's talk about the food... The hotel restaurant really outdid themselves by serving what I can only assume were leftovers from a failed cooking show. The ‘chicken’ had the texture of a flip-flop, and the vegetables tasted like they'd been steamed in someone’s regret. The highlight of the meal? The butter packets. They were the only thing that seemed fresh.
Customer service? Non-existent. The staff seem uninterested and bored. If I write any more on this issue my finger tips would turn into stumps from the amount I have to say.
Overall, if you enjoy terrible food, elevators that double as thrill rides, and staff who act like you're inconveniencing them by existing, then this is your dream destination. Otherwise, I recommend literally any other hotel... or maybe just camping.
The hotel is not 5 star, a lot of the staff don't seem to care about their jobs,. My room was nice but I understand that only some rooms are renovated.
When I checked out, I went to take my towel to the pool and get my 10 euro deposit back. The lady at the desk called reception to confirm I had given the towel back but when I got to reception, they said they had no record of my payment and therefore couldn't give me the money back.
So they made a clerical error and I lose my money.
So basically, the hotel is comfortable to steal your money. Maybe someone wants to contact me to give me my money back?
Food was atrocious.
