Reviews
If you want a quite place, don't go here.
The positive was that the staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and they all spoke English very well. The other positive thing were the cats. They are strays, and you shouldn't touch them, but during each meal you had a lot of company from begging cats, and they are adorable!
The location of the hotel is right next to an extremely busy road. The road leads from the airport to Rodos-city, and all the tiny villages in the area are connected to this road. Therefore it's busy with heavy traffic 24/7! On top of that, the wind blows from sea to the hotel, amplifying the sound and battering the hotel. We had a room with sea view, and the road was right below our balcony. The view was absolutely amazing, but we couldn't sit on the balcony because of the traffic sound. It was horrible.
The sound of the animation was also very loud. It started at 18.00 hour and lasted until 23.30 hour.
Then there was the room. It was dated, but clean enough. Not super clean.
The bed was hard, but you can ask for a topper at the reception and housekeeping will put it on your bed. The pillows were various forms of brick, or almost without stuffing.
The bathroom was a disaster. Super tiny, and the shower was installed in a bathtub in an awkward angle and therefore I was really afraid I'd slip and fall. The sink didn't provide a lot of room for toiletries. The towel rack was right above the toilet (gross!) and it was the only place to hang a towel. Adding a hook or two on the door would fix a lot.
There was also no space to place your suitcase.
The choice in food was limited. They did change the menu every day, and of course you get Greek food. But all the food was cold, and at best luke-warm. The desserts were the same every day, just a different flavour of petit four or jello. The choice of drinks and snacks for an all-inclusive hotel was sad. You can get either alcohol, drinks with bubbles, or a disgusting cup of coffee. The snacks were limited to a couple of pastries and a cookie. I would have liked some options for fruit, yoghurt, or maybe even crisps during the day.
There were some places to lounge. The lobby had a couple of sagged couches, and it was always busy and loud. Not really made for relaxing. The pool area was fine to relax, but the pool was green with algae and the water was cold. My advice is to go to the sea and swim there. Bring water shoes because it's a pebble with sand beach.
Close to the hotel is a taxi stop. I do advice to take the cab. The prices are fixed (there's an extra fee when they pick you up from the hotel) and it's not expensive.
All in all, I wouldn't go here again and I wouldn't recommend someone going here.
Bus stop right next to hotel.
Great, kind and helpful staff.
Pool after long day of exploring town and hills is always great.
Take beach shoes for stoney beach!
Street next to hotel is one of the main streets in the island so it's bit noisy.
Great place if you don't want drunk people all night long around.
1. Very friendly staff everywhere. I especially want to highlight the bartender, who makes excellent cocktails – the balance of flavors and the presentation are wonderful!
2. The food is very tasty, with many different Greek dishes.
3. Beautiful area around the pool. There are several spots for sunbathing: by the pool, on the grass, and on the terraces. The view of the sea and mountains is stunning.
4. You can walk to Rhodes in about 40 minutes. But the walk is truly beautiful, as it goes along the sea with lovely scenery all the way.
Negative:
1. I am very disappointed with the cleaning quality. Let me remind you that cleaning a room is not just about changing towels! The floor was not cleaned, and the bed linen was changed only twice during our 10-day stay.
2. My husband and I did not pay for two single beds pushed together, which kept sliding apart all the time.
3. There was trash right by the pool (sugar packets, candy wrappers, and plastic bags were “sunbathing” there for all 10 days of our stay).
4. Sadly, the beach itself is uncomfortable and quite dirty (broken buckets, bottles, plastic bags). The sunbeds are not owned by the hotel, so you have to pay for them.
Wishing you success, great reviews, and satisfied guests! But please, make sure to improve the cleaning quality throughout your hotel.
Just back from an unforgettable stay at Hotel Serene, and I couldn’t be more impressed. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism by the incredible reception team. Nothing was ever too much trouble — every query or request was met with genuine care and a willingness to go above and beyond. They truly set the tone for a relaxing and stress-free holiday.
A special thank you to the wonderful cleaning staff, who not only kept our room immaculate but also went the extra mile by fitting a mattress topper to our bed. That thoughtful touch transformed our sleep and showed how much pride they take in guest comfort.
And of course — Bados, the barman extraordinaire! 🍹 His energy and humour lit up our evenings. Whether serving up cocktails or laughter, he kept us entertained and made every night something to look forward to. He’s a real gem.
Would I stay at Hotel Serene again? No hesitation whatsoever. It’s rare to find a place where every single staff member contributes to such a fabulous experience. Huge thanks to everyone who made our holiday so special!
Thank you, Hotel Serene — until next time! 💙
The bed was okayish.
Room was cleaned everyday with minimal effort, towels were changed(which was good!), we noticed that the sheets werent changed for atleast 4 days, which was probably because we didint tip, would have if there was effort.
The food, for me, a vegetarian, there was little options that were good enough, the oven fish, alllways stale, but its a problem at many all inclusive hotels, mainly ate pasta and feta, sometimes there were more options. Boyfriend ate everything, but said the food was nothing special.
The pool area was nice, the pool refreshingly cool, there were sun beds all over the place, we usually found a place, the pool bar served good drinks, always with a smile, i would give five stars for them.
The staff was nice and friendly and helpful.
The reception kept our ids as we checked in, which was a bit weird, since hotels usually just make a copy, but its probably because you have to pay the fee later, for the goverment, which resulted in 70 euros for a "four star hotel".
The hotel is situated in a great area, you can walk to the city centre and there are bus stops everywhere.
All in all, really not worth a four star status, really overpaid for the trip considering everything. But i had fun in Rhodes overall, the island is really friendly to foreigners.
The hotel does offer an all-inclusive package, but at an absolutely minimalist level. Drinks are only available at mealtimes in the hotel, and even that is a hassle. The pool bar is only accessible via a circuitous route, which really detracts from the enjoyment. The food was a real disappointment. We ate outside most of the time as the quality of the food was substandard for us. Whether it was fish or meat - it was barely edible. The alcoholic drinks were particularly disappointing, especially the wine, which had nothing to do with good wine. The beer was just okay, but the water in the hotel is undrinkable. It tastes like you are drinking pool water. It's a cheek that all guests are forced to buy water outside the hotel.
The evening entertainment was also at a very low level. They do try to organise something, but again only the bare minimum. Some of the staff were friendly, but we were irritated by the fact that dinner ends abruptly at 10pm and the door closes at 9.59pm sharp.
There is no children's entertainment and no beach towels provided by the hotel. One bright spot, however, was the hotel room with a sea view. This was really stunning and the room was always kept very clean. The cleaning staff were very reliable, so a big thank you for that.
Overall our stay was unfortunately disappointing and we would not recommend this hotel to anyone. There are definitely better options on Rhodes.
