Atrium Ambiance Hotel

I arrived in the evening, exhausted from travelling and the lock was broken on the door to my room. When I told reception, they made me walk back and forth to the room (which wasn't close) a few times with different keys until they came to look themselves and said "oh you're right" and gave me a new room (thankfully an upgrade). However, if they showed you to your room on arrival (being a 4* hotel), I wouldn't have had to walk back and forth worrying where I was going to sleep that night.

Throughout my stay I was treated like a second-class citizen for being a solo traveller, especially when dining. The restaurant was a buffet, where you serve yourself and then sit wherever you want. Therefore, I usually sat in the same seat on a table for 2.. however, one evening I got my food and sat in my usual seat, when the Maître De quite abruptly came over to me and said "you need to move, that table is for somebody else" (a couple that were getting their food, that hadn't sat down, but had been told that they could sit there). I apologised, picked up my plate and moved to the next table, whereby he rudely replied "you need to ask me".. baring in mind that there was no seating system in place, no wait to be seated signs, no reserved table signs, people sat where they wanted and I'd sat there most times that I went to dinner. I felt so unwelcomed, embarrassed and dreaded going back for breakfast and dinner, which is absolutely not okay. If I was in a couple, he definitely wouldn't have spoken to me like that or told us to move.

Appalling behaviour and not how you should treat paying customers. Definitely would not return due to the service received.

Also the sound of motorbikes from the road was loud and felt like it was in the room.
