Hotel Galaxias

A basic, and simple hotel, but very friendly, with super excellent service.

It is located on a main street, a few minutes drive, from the old town, and the tourist area, where the restaurants, cafes and shops are. The cost of a taxi, from the hotel, to this area, is about 10 euros, each side.

We got the only room on the top floor - 4, which was comfortable, and met our needs. It had 2 rooms, a small fridge, each room had a TV, wardrobes, air conditioning and even a balcony. Just like a small apartment.

The rooms, and the hotel, are very clean.

The breakfast is very nice, and has a good selection of food, to start the day.

The service is absolutely excellent, and everything we asked for - taxis, restaurant reservations, was done quickly, always with a smile.

For those who come to Rhodes, for a vacation/holiday, and are looking for a large, luxurious hotel, with a pool, spa, and restaurants - it is better to look for another option.

But for those who come to Rhodes, like us, for a short period of time (3 days), not a vacation/holiday, which requires staying in the city center, this is definitely a worthy option, and a good choice.

Lovely hotel, on a main street but at a quite part of the city, a short walk (10-15minutes) from old town with very easy access to public transportation to the eastern (more touristic) part of the island, and equally easy transportation to the city if you wish to visit it or to get to the other side of the island. Very clean and tidy. Kindest helpful staff.

We received a warm welcome at the front desk. Our room was always spotlessly clean, and we were very pleased with their attention to detail. The bathroom is a bit small, but you do have a small refrigerator. The bed, room, and balcony are large. It's a 10-15-minute walk to the sea and a 15-20-minute walk to the Old Town. There's a market and many cafes nearby. My wife and I came for our honeymoon and were very pleased. If we come to Rhodes again, we will choose this place.

Great hotel in Rhodes!
I found it casually on Booking and got attracted by the good reviews.
The building is modern and well maintained, with nice typical Greek traits.
Rooms are cozy, very clean and noiseless.
Towels, hairdryer and soaps are also provided.
You also get a 30% discount to use in the bar.
The location is also top, being the hotel situated very close to the ancient city (you can reach the ancient town by walk in around 10 minutes).
Receptionists are very nice and friendly!

I was not a guest at the hotel however, I was experiencing a female emergency and it was a Sunday... nearly every pharmacy in close proximity, was closed. I stopped into the Galaxia and the hotel manager was extremely thorough and helpful, she called ahead, assisting me with finding an open market on a Sunday afternoon; I was able to find exactly what I needed. She even offered to call a taxi for me!

Very nice and clean hotel with super friendly and responsible staff. The lady at the reception was so kind and helpful. One can reach the old city center on foot, following the short path described in the hotel guidebook (15-20 minute walk). The bus stops to many destinations are also located nearby. We really appreciated the detailed touristic guidebook prepared by the hotel, which was quite helpful.

The hotel staff are exceptional, friendly and helpful. They went the extra mile when we thought we lost a phone, giving us advice on bus timetables instead of using a taxi, opening the bar and garden when we came back after a days sightseeing and wanted a drink The breakfast options were lovely and contained a huge variety of food to choose from. We stayed at the start and end of our trip so had two different rooms and both were lovely. One had a balcony which was lovely although was facing the road which was a little noisy. The toiletries were a nice touch and the rooms were cleaned on a daily basis. The only downside I would say was that the service options were a little basic in comparison to some of the other hotels we stayed at but considering the location we could survive without these..

Staff made this place a joy to stay in, super friendly whenever we walked past the front desk & had a nice chat with us before we left for our flights, good location fairly close to the old town, takes about 20 minutes to walk. Would recommend this place.

I thoroughly enjoyed my recent stay at Hotel Galaxias.
I was welcomed by Anna at reception with an 8 page booklet of helpful information about Rhodes, included restaurants and things to do. This subsequently resulted in me dining in one of the restaurants (Kalammmakia) and visiting the Rodos Acropolis , both from their booklet and enjoyed them both! Anna was so helpful, organising the best way to get to the ferry port. Another reception staff gave me the verbal instructions to catch the bus to Lindos (something Google Maps couldn’t provide), which was key to me experiencing this pretty town.

The room I stayed in (delux room) was very comfortable, with tea making facilities and a stocked mini fridge with a price list. The large bed was so comfortable and the bathroom spacious and clean. I love the decoration, especially the ceiling above the bed- see attached photo. The staff informed me this was one of their newly decorated rooms. I could tell, it was so well done.

As a solo female traveller, I felt completely safe in this neighbourhood and in the hotel.

This hotel is fantastic! The rooms are cleaned daily and everything is spotless. The hotel is beautiful, with lovely decor. Breakfast is delicious with a great variety. The reception staff are incredibly kind and helpful. Highly recommended! ☺️
