Hotel Scalinatella

Do NOT stay at this hotel. We arrived at the hotel at 2PM. They advised us the room was not ready. They said the room will be ready at 3PM. We stayed in the pool area waiting for 3PM. We went at 3PM to the front desk and they said the room was still not ready because they were still preparing it and it was a very "special" room for our honeymoon. We waited another fifteen minutes and nothing. They decided to put us in a room so we can freshen up and change. When we came back later that night, the "special" honeymoon room had a small bathtub (smaller than the bathtub of the holding room). The bed was facing the wall with some portraits of old people. The holding room actually faced the ocean. The "special" room shared a wall/balcony with the breakfast/patio area. We can hear everyone having breakfast. It was not special at all. They charged us close to $1,000 a night. The gave us a champagne bottle one night. We drank some of it and left for dinner. When we arrived back at the room, they had taken the champagne away. The next day I approached them about it and they had gone into our room and supposedly taken the champagne to their refrigerator. DO NOT stay here. Overpriced!!!!! There are so many beautiful hotels with better service on the island.
