Grand Hotel Aminta

Hotel location offers beautiful views of the Bay. We are a family of 4 traveling and had 2 rooms. Rooms are average. Shower is small. They do not offer bath robes or slippers. Very little space in bathroom to put your toiletries. There was a desk with a mirror Breakfast buffet very average compared to other places we have been in Italy. Pool is excellent. Quiet and peaceful. Sometimes hard to get a towel though. Bar service by pool was good. Free shuttle to town. Starts at 9 am so if you want to go earlier you will need to walk down the hill or take an over priced taxi. The shuttle does have a late last pick from town which is really nice. Hot tub closes at 7 pm. So you cannot enjoy it after a long day or under the stars. No free water. Have to pay which is a shame. While waiting for our driver to depart my adult children went to get a bottle of water from the breakfast buffet. They gave them bottles but one of the staff member’s immediately ran down to the front desk to add to their bill. We were standing right there watching. My daughter and I did not even eat that morning but they felt the need to charge us. For the price would not stay here again if we return to Sorrento.

Hotel has beautiful views of the Bay. A free shuttle service is available to take up and down the hill. Shuttle does not start until 9 am so if you have an early excursion you will need to get a taxi. The hotel did book a taxi for us the day before our excursion for an early pick up - much appreciated. However we got ripped off by the taxi driver. He charged us 50 Euros for a 15 minute ride to town. We told the front desk about it and they said that’s just the way it is. Sometimes we felt like we were bothering the staff. Hard to find towels at the pool. They only put a few out at a time. So if there are none there you have to go looking for someone to go to the green shed. We watched several guests looking around for towels and then just gave up. Pool is lovely 5 stars there. Love the chairs with the face shields. Hot tub is also very nice. Although it closes at 7. So if you come back from a long day you cannot enjoy it. Should be open later to enjoy under the stars. Breakfast average. We came to Sorrento from Florence and the breakfast options we had at our hotel in Florence were amazing as we had something to compare this to. Service for coffee during breakfast service very nice. They came around with the cart often. The patio by the pool overlooking the bay is excellent. Comfortable seating areas to enjoy. For the price would not stay here if we returned to Sorrento.
