Service and hospitality is very rundown since the hotel can be sold itself.
Very touristy. Not for romantic getaway. Average 3 star hotel, not worth the money.
Staff could not do enough for us.
They provide upgrades without having to ask them subject to availability, our room was provided to us very early, the amenities in room include bath robe and slippers. It’s a true 5 star experience.
The location itself is so prime the ferry’s are a few steps away and it’s around the corner from como lago station. The bus stops are also right in front of the hotel.
The breakfast was included in our stay and was simply beautiful and scrumptious’. With a self serve option for mimosas couldn’t have asked for more! The staff at the breakfast area was so nice and helpful!
The lake view rooms are wonderful but often not available. The whole interior is based on the name the palace and gives you a great atmospheric feel.
Everyone who was working as the service staff at the restaurant, breakfast buffet and cleaning staff for our rooms was very polite and friendly! The young lady at the hotel entrance gave us a lovely greeting and smooth check in.
Unfortunately our room was a little small, not a big enough view of the lake and the wall had a weird look of electricity sticker. The older lady by the check out at the reception desk was also very disappointing. She didn’t even wished us a good journey back. The attitude and arrogance of her ruined the good impression of our experience.
We were actually very upset and saddened with her.
She didn’t even ask us if we liked the stay.
For the future we will book another hotel because we liked como and the lake a lot, the hotel was near the ferry station and city so everything wasn’t too far away.
We can recommend the better alternative to the palace, Hilton offers a great view of the lake if you use the terrazza restaurant, has a great spa and pool and is very nice to their guests.
The Mandarin oriental is also a great place but a little more expensive than the palace hotel.
We are thankful for the good service team except for the older lady at the reception desk and wish the hotel all the best and better change for the future!
