Hotel Flora

As a frequent visitor to Milan, 3-6 times a year, I stay in the Centrale area for it's great convenience location and facilities wise.

I've not encountered such a rude unprofessional front desk, who did nt like me checking out at 2:30am and then accused me of not returning something I was never given at check in. Indeed, check was very fast however impersonal and if they wanted my check out time could have asked then, I got given my room key and told where the lift was - that was it. I'd say it's the first time I've felt front desk would not be any help or assistance if you needed it, compared to the normal high standards of hospitality one receives at hotels in Italy. Hotel Flora fails in this regard so badly none of the positives matter. Left a bitter taste and end to my fantastic trip.

Very friendly staff and nice clean room, but breakfast can not be recommended: only white rolls and bread in plastic served with jam and butter, boiled eggs, yoghurt, some fruit, croisants and sweet cake. No wholewheat, brown bread or toast, no ham or cheese slices. No muesli or bran flakes nor scrambled eggs.

The rooms were small and the walls are thin. I could hear the sound of traffic outside even I stayed at the 5th floor. I could also hear the sound of vacuuming outside my room and the baby crying next door. The receptionist was not very friendly when I'm asking questions for directions. I lost my electric shaver in this hotel. I think I misplaced it and forgotten to pack it in my bag. I contacted the hotel but they didn't find it. It was my fault though. But I was at least expecting they would find it. It has a very good location. Very close to the Milan Centrale station.
