Duomo View Mini-hotel

Apri la finestra della tua stanza e basta poco per immaginare di essere nel quattrocento, nel pieno del rinascimento. Abbiamo soggiornato a Firenze per tre giorni, ospiti del Duomo View b&b. Scelta perfetta per visitare questa splendida città. Posizione ideale per raggiungere chiese, musei palazzi da visitare, tutto a piedi e in pochi minuti. Anche la stazione di Santa Maria Novella si trova nelle vicinanze del b&b comodamente raggiungibile a piedi. La struttura si trova in un palazzo signorile proprio accanto al Duomo, nel giro scale si trova anche un ascensore. Le camere sono spaziose, accoglienti. Abbiamo apprezzato la pulizia e la cortesia e simpatia del personale. La colazione viene servita direttamente in camera all’ora scelta, buona e servizio puntualissimo. La mattina del giorno della partenza, dopo avere liberato la stanza, abbiamo potuto lasciare i nostri bagagli in deposito per ritirarli più tardi quando ci siamo recati in stazione. Una vera cortesia per l’ospite. Sicuramente da consigliare.

Location, location, location. This is right in the heart of ancient Florence. You can't beat the stunning view (the B&B is aptly named).

Everything (grocery store, pharmacy, other shops, restaurants, conference center) is within an easy (and beautiful) walk. The sounds of Florence are intoxicating. But it is also good that the room has good shutters and windows that can keep out the noise and light when not wanted.

Our room was spare and not very comfortable. No drawers or closets to put your clothes. The bed had a pretty saggy, lumpy mattress. This is a very old historic building that has been remodeled inside, but not with much care or charm in the rooms. The building itself is charming with its shutters, narrow staircase, and ancient elevator for 2 people (or 1 person and luggage).
Breakfast is just a typical Italian light continental breakfast. 1 pastry, 2 small pieces of Melba toast, a cup of tea/coffee, and a glass of juice and some butter and jam....all brought to the room at a time (only between 8:00 and 8:45 am) of your choice. There is no attendant or service after 12:00pm.

We have been guests several times. It's always a safety. Duomo view in name and in fact! Priceless view. The customer management was also really super: the lady allowed us to change the date of the stay without any problem, we had to postpone the departure by two weeks. Highly recommended!

Advantages
1. The location is really good. It's right in front of Piazza del Duomo.
2. The front door is closed. If you press the Duomo view on the button next to it, the owner will open the door.
3. The manager is really kind. They explain things well and keep your luggage even after check-out at 9:45.

disadvantage
1. After the sun sets, people gather to sing and perform at Piazza del Duomo. It gets a little noisy from around 9 to 10 o'clock. If you are sensitive, it may be a little difficult for you.
2. The elevator is small and the stairs are high. It's big enough to fit two suitcases. You must lift your carrier and climb up yourself.
3. The facilities are a bit old and there is no refrigerator. But the view is really nice

It was a clean and comfortable hotel. Recommended if you value the view. And they say the rooftop is no longer available!

Spent my first night in Italy here. It got the job done but was nothing special. Tiny lift elevator which I thought was really cool although it’s not the most practical. The bathroom was separate from the room but we didn’t see any other people. The towels we were provided with were very thin so hot soaked immediately. The location was amazing and the place was clean and secure. Those were the main things for me. We got a breakfast which was nice but it was very minimal so definitely didn’t hold us off for long. She made us pay the tourist tax in cash. Don’t have super high expectations.

We went for location over luxury and boy did we get the most amazing location!! The Duomo was almost touching distance !! The bells were amazing to hear ( but when the windows were shut we got peace and quiet). To walk out the door and right into the thick of the activity of Florence, was a wonderful experience. The B and B was clean, we were given a kettle and cups and tea bags when I asked if we could make tea. We really did have a comfortable sleep and we were allowed to leave our bags for the whole day we checked out which was great! There was an amazing lift up to the B and B ( but a flight of stairs to get to the lift so not accessible for those with mobility issues). We had such a memorable time. Thankyou so much to the staff.
