Hotel Sempione

The man at the front desk was incredibly helpful and friendly. And the breakfast was delicious and complementary! It's super close to both the train station and a metro stop that takes you directly to the Duomo.

However, the room was very very tiny and I could not get the AC to lower in temperature so I woke up sweating.

It's a great hotel if you're just going to be sleeping there and you don't run hot in your sleep.

I was looking at a budget hotel for a weekend in Milan. Hotel Sempione came well recommended on booking. Com.

The hotel is clean, though the rooms are very small, the photos make them look a lot larger. We walked past one room whilst being cleaned & that was even smaller.

The area isn't what I call extremely noisy, but we heard street noise late at night, couples arguing, dog barking etc. The location seemed a bit run down IMHO. A lot of walls with graffiti, not many shops. The metro station Republica, is 3 minutes walk away.

We didn't use the bar nor the breakfast facility, but from what I saw the bar had no windows, just didn't have any ambiance.

The bathroom OK, tho I dislike shower in baths, because of the slip hazard & had a couple of moments getting out. The shower doors, which bi fold, awkward to use & the first time soaked the floor. There is no kettle or refreshments in the room, but there is a fridge.

Bed satisfactory, but took me a couple of nights to get comfortable, the air conditioning, no instructions, so wasn't absolutely sure if working perfectly, as couldn’t get room really cool.

Summary it's a hotel, if you working on a budget, then would suit your requirements, but don't expect much, it's the bare minimum for the price, if you have a bigger budget, then elsewhere would probably suit you better.

The room was comfortable, compact and cozy. As most hotels in Italy, the rooms had air conditioners. Bathroom were also compact and neat. Room is equipped with a TV and some storage space. There is parking garage opposite to the hotel and you can get it reimbursement at the hotel reception which is very good. Only 3 stars because the breakfast couldn't have been worse. Supposed to be a buffet but had only croissants, some biscuits with jam, cheese and nutella. All the glasses for juice/water was so dirty, disgusting and stinky. If you can afford to skip the breakfast or have it somewhere else, that would be the best option.
