Reviews
- VERY loud. You can hear every step and voice in the building. Don’t plan on getting sleep after 6am once people start moving.
- Cleaning staff starts cleaning at 7am, thus adding to the noise. I had earplugs and couldn’t get a wink of sleep.
- Beds are pretty firm and don’t come with blankets… so you’re just sleeping under a few bedsheets.
- The room we got was VERY small. Think Japan hotel room small - bed, desk, and about a foot between. Shower was hard to use due to size - you keep bumping into the water handle.
Just my $0.02. I saved some money here, but probably will spend a little extra to avoid this hotel next time.
Breakfast is perfect, though there is no halal meat but still you can find alot of other options to eat.
2-3 mins walk to Milan's Central station which was perfect to move around the city.
Staff are nice and helpful.
Shower is a bit small but manageable, and the walls are too thin basically you can hear through them but it was fine since the visitors were all polite and quiet.
Would definitly stay at Bernina hotel if i ever come back to Milan.
If you want to walk to the main entrance of the train station (Italo, Trenitalia), it takes just 5 mins from the hotel.
Our room was kept very tidy and had plenty of towels. We had separate beds (two single beds), which were really nice and comfortable.
The large window has automatic curtains to block out the morning sun. The AC is very effective, and even when turned off, the room remains cool due to the hotel's central air conditioning system.
Even though my friends have accepted to pay 50% for two rooms that we will not stay at, I think it’s very strange and decided to write this negative review here. I have been in similar situations in the past traveling in Europe, but those hotels have always agreed to cancel the booking for free. And in this case, we booked one night for two rooms, more than 4 weeks in advance and realised our mistake within the day!
I’ve lived in the EU for more than ten years and while this kind of practice may be expected somewhere else in the world, it’s not how a respectable hotel usually conducts its business here. I find it necessary to call it out, in case this is targeted at guests from outside Europe. A bit further out from the city center, you can find better hotels that are reasonably priced, 4 star, new, clean, with great service, and are conveniently connected to the city center by public transport.
I hope this helps.
However, I was given a standard room, next to the lift door, so small that two adults could scarcely feel confortable inside. Also, the room service failed to clean the room and make the beds. after the first night. When we did the check out, the concierge was very helpful. We had been robbed when leaving the underground station Milano centrale FS and we had the chance to pay later. l
We planned to stay there 2 nights, but after the first night we changed the hotel because it is impossible to sleep there: we heard all our neighbors from all sides - it was like they are sitting next to us. Also to avoid the noise from outside we closed the window, but the AC turned off by itself each 30 min, so the night was awful. Beside that the smell from toilet room killed all our wish to stay there.
In addition the manager on reception declined our request to return the money for the second night and all our efforts to return the money were useless. So it become expensive experience for bad service and place.
Everything happens, and maybe my feedback would not be so bad, but I don't want to pay money for those services, which we haven't had, but the reception manager was no matter about my arguments.
Awful service - NOT recommend to stay there.
