San Domenico Palace, Taormina, A Four Seasons Hotel

Amazing!!!! While the property is certainly magnificent, what differentiates this hotel from many other luxury resorts is the level of service which is off the charts. We have traveled the world and stayed at many call the "best"... the staff at the Taormina Four Seasons exceeded all expectations. We enjoyed 6 magnificent nights to celebrate and so look forward to going back... the property is expensive but it is worth it...

This is truly a beautiful hotel. Scenic, serene, and lively at the same time. Every meal was delicious and the service is unmatched. Corso Umberto where shops and restaurants are is just a 3 minute walk. Highly recommended.

Superb stay in Taormina. Very comfortable accomodation with a stunning garden and pool overlooking the sea. Stayed for six nights so we were really settled and enjoyed a truly relaxing stay that was attentive yet private. Great restaurants and in particular breakfast. Spa was great as was gym, sauna and steam.

A beautiful property with really outstanding service and comfortable rooms in a gorgeous setting. For the extremely high price, there were definitely a few negatives.

First off, with no beach club, you really only have the pool, which is too small of an area for the hotel size, so it feels very chaotic and crowded at times. It’s also right on top of the road so you often hear cars and traffic.

Second, the hotel lacks any sense of place. You don’t really feel like you’re in Italy and could really be anywhere. The design is the ubiquitous Four Seasons that you see at their hotels all over the world. Through the renovation, they lost a lot of the old monastery charm.

Overall, it’s a beautiful hotel, but at $2,500+ per night, it lacks any feeling of being in Italy, and since you’re just sitting by a pool, you could really go to any other Four Seasons with a view.

There are some hotels that are so remarkable, they become the benchmark for future vacations; San Domenico Palace is definitely one of those properties.

Staff are kind & highly accommodating; they went above and beyond on every request we made, even the more outlandish ones.

My husband and I stayed in an Ocean View Junior Suite with Plunge Pool and had our coffee on the terrace every morning. The view was so stunning, we never made it downstairs for the breakfast buffet, but Principe was absurdly good; easily, the best Michelin experience we’ve had (blew Osteria Francescana out of the water). Somm was super knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor.

We enjoyed learning about the history of the property on a brief tour with Megan. Really appreciate how they married elements of the historic architecture with more modern decor throughout. Love the Ginori porcelain across restaurants; the Dolce & Gabbana ephemeral boutique was also a nice touch. We also highly recommend the tour of Taormina and Castelmola in the Fiat Spiaggina and the Mt. Etna experiences.

My husband and I were not expecting much as we have had very mixed experiences with Four Seasons properties, so much so that we went into this stay at SD, expecting it to be our last with the brand. But our visit here was honestly amazing.

San Domenico Palace is, without a doubt, one of the best properties at which we’ve stayed and I know we’ll be returning.

Following all four seasons resorts, this one is one of the most charming for sure! The entire architecture ties in with the romantic features of this island, views are incredible and staff are tiptop as usual.
On this note, please remember to book the Michelin starred restaurant ahead of your arrival as there are only limited seats on the balcony and tables aren't guaranteed.
Special compliments to Cecile at the bar, she is a true magician when it comes to cocktails and very friendly and full of good local recommendations!
Rooms are all as seen on white lotus or even better! Thumbs up will definitely return!

I saw this hotel at the TV show “White Lotus” and I’ve always wanted to visit this amazing place. Fabulous, distinguished hotel in Taormina which located close to the chapel at the area where was ancient Monastery. I had only excellent experience there and I was extremely impressed with views and the artsianial interior details. This is truly luxurious timeless space for the vacation and also will suit for the wedding celebration and so on. It’s necessary to point out that the staff of the hotel literally pore over for the guests comfort and they attend to small details, cherishing relics. It has cloistered courtyard with an ancient fountain at its heart. That’s very important for the people who like privacy. Highly recommend!

This property is beautiful and tranquil! Upon walking to the front gate, you are greeted immediate by friendly bellhops and taken to the reception desk. Such lovely ambiance and beautiful flower arrangements. Everyone from front desk, to hostesses, to servers, to pool attendants, to spa associates and therapist are all friendly and made my stay here memorable. The garden was a pretty place to take a little stroll before sunset. Love the new spa, Botanica! The amenities are amazing and had a relaxing treatment by Monica and Veronica, the receptionist, was so inviting and helpful. The views here are breathtaking at anytime of the day overlooking the Mediterranean sea. The breakfast buffet is an excellent way to start your day in Taormina and ending it at either restaurant on property. There is an outdoor garden bar that is great to wind down with a drink and lovely live music. This is a beautiful property to explore and lounge for a couple of days before heading into town. Highly recommend this place! Cannot wait to come back.

I don't think we can complain about such a miracle. My parents stayed with my pharmacist colleagues twice a year. Unfortunately, I only visited this. It is unique in the world and unique in the very hospitable Taormina. Two stars I might add ⭐️⭐️
