A luxury 5-star hotel in a historical building in the heart of Venice overlooking the Grand Canal- less than 1km from St Marks Square- surrounded by the best art galleries in the city- easily accessible to the major attractions of Venice. Marco Polo airport is 10kms away. Palazzina Grassi is the only hotel in Italy designed by French design genius Philippe Starck. The interior embodies a deep love for the history and culture of Venice - in turn warm- cosy- elegant and refined. All 26 rooms and suites are glamorous and unconventional yet comfortable and welcoming. Materials include lamps decorated with Venetian carnival masks- illuminated alabaster tables- Fornasetti chairs- mirrored wardrobes and bedheads. Included as standard are High Speed WIFI- Minibar- Safety deposit box- TV embedded in the mirror- Hairdryer and exclusive bathroom amenities. Dining is a gastronomic experience with an open show kitchen offering carefully created menus with contemporary dishes and flavours alongside more traditional Italian cuisine. At midnight- during main seasonal events the restaurant turns into The Club- an exclusive space open only to hotel guests and VIP guests. The hotel has an attractive outdoor roof terrace as an alternative dining venue from May to September. The Lounge offers a fabulous space for private gatherings overlooking the Grand Canal. In room check-in is offered- Breakfast is served until noon and room service is available 24/7 with a snack menu. Additional information; Children aged 2 years and under can stay free in a room with parents in existing bedding or a cot for free. Children aged 3 - 13 years can use an extra bed at a charge of EUR 100 per child per night. Children over 14 years are considered adults. Supplements are not calculated automatically in the total costs and will have to be paid for separately during your stay. The hotel reserves the right to cancel any reservation with an invalid or incomplete credit card number without prior notification

This review is long overdue for our amazing holiday at this beautiful hotel on the iconic Grand Canal back in late April 2025.
Our stay got off to a spectacular start. We had arrived from Las Vegas in the late afternoon by private water taxi from the airport and entered the hotel through the Grand Canal entrance. Unlike a usual hotel where one goes to check-in at the front desk, we were asked to relax in the bar’s restaurant while our bags were whisked away and the check-in was completed by the helpful staff. While waiting, we were offered a welcome cocktail by Michel who came back with an iconic Aperol Spritz and a Rossini each with a fresh lemon foam. They were amazing and my wife will now only have the spritz if it’s made the way Michel made it.
And that was just the beginning of our four night stay…the amuse-bouche so to speak. Everything else from there was equally spectacular including the room (we were graciously upgraded to a Deluxe room with a serene private terrace on the second floor), the amazing breakfasts, the helpful tips for restaurant reservations, and the amazing hotel-arranged private gondola ride direct from the hotel’s Grand Canal dock…what an unforgettable experience.
This was mine and my wife’s first time in Venice as a couple and the Palazzina Grassi made every moment so special. From the exquisitely elegant Philippe Starck decor to the amazing food, central location and fantastic staff, it all made for a wonderful experience and one we hope to replicate in June of 2026 as we have booked a return trip to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary here. La dolce vita and the Palazzina Grassi beckons ❤️

Specially, the ladies from the breakfast Manuela and Vania, the front desk staff, Eduardo, the guys who received us upon checking in and also the staff who served our Room service.
