The building was built in the Venetian Gothic style in the 14th century on the waterfront of the Grand canal. Nearby is the Piazza San Marco and the Doge's Palace. It was originally the Palace of a family of Danao, and in the 19th century, there was opened an elegant hotel.

Location: the heart of Venice, few steps from the hotel to the waterbus San Zaccaria, Bridge of Sighs and the Doge's Palace. Also nearby are Basilica. Mark and Rialto Bridge. 10 km from the hotel to Marco Polo airport.

We came here for coffee and sweets at the rooftop bar at around 4pm. The bar was not crowded but we had to wait a bit to be seated. It wad worth it because they gave us a table central to their spectacular view. We got some espresso, cappuccino and tiramisu. There were 2 waiters attending our table, one scared me a little because he only responded in Italian while the other was very friendly, welcoming and took godly pictures of my mom and me. We were very lucky because the weather was beautiful so their out-of-this-world view was absolutely stunning. The water was so so blue. It's a view that I want to return to someday. It was definitely luxurious afternoon snack but it's worth every penny.

Bar Dandolo - Hotel Danieli, Venice - what an amazing experience! Aperitivo at its finest! Perfect drinks, wondering setting and the service was fantastic!
We originally had planned to go to the rooftop terrace but the weather wasn’t great so opted to have a drink at Bar Dandolo. We are so happy we did!

My mom and I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Danieli. Everyone was so nice and helpful. The location is great. The food is wonderful. We highly recommend.

My wife and I have stayed many time at this hotel. The standards have declined significantly. Last I checker hospitality is about a warm welcome.
Traditionally the concierge staff at this hotel were excellent. They even organized a photo shoot with Micro Tifollo and made our stay pleasant.
Today my wife and I who just wanted to show my in laws the hotel. We were followed by the security guard who made us feel completely uncomfortable. We informed the front desk staff who were pleasant but his behavior continued and was simply unacceptably intimidating.
I feel the friendliness of this hotel has declined and I’d recommend the other boutique five star establishments or otherwise the Gritti Palace or Aman.
Never again will I use this hotel if the new management is this poor.

gorgeous hotel with a lovely lobby bar. we came for martinis and small nibbles - service was amazing! the air conditioning was perfect on a hot summer day.

Went to go eat at the rooftop at this hotel. Service at the restaurant was amazing. Food was delicious, hotel was beautiful. The only bad thing I have to say about this hotel is a black male that works by the reception complained because we were at the lobby. Even though we had already gotten permission to be there by the front desk.

The location of this is perfect . The rooms were OK after you can find your room. The place is a maze with having to use stairs and elevators. Third floor room numbers on the first floor. Restaurant on 4 but the one elevator says 5. Very frustrating and no one gives any instructions. Unless you are dripping in diamonds or fur, expect to have the front desk look down their nose or ignore you completely. We were on a very expensive Taulk tour in which every other 5 star hotel was fantastic from Sorrento to Florence. Taulk should remove this hotel from their line up. It was a sad ending to an otherwise fabulous 16 day tour of Italy.

Stayed here for 3 days and it was fantastic. Breakfast was included and was simply superb. The best part was the service which was impeccable. Rooms were very nice too. I would definitely come back. It was quite foggy in February when we went so couldn’t see too much of the view but I’m sure other times it’s beautiful. The water taxi dropped us off at a private entrance which was amazing too. The only thing is that our room faced the docks where lots of tourists come so at night it got a bit noisy. Besides that it was still a fantastic experience.

This review is only for the service in the main tea room. We had called previously to make a reservation and they said they would not make a reservation for tea for our group of 8. We split up and arrived with a small group of 4 to be told we could not be seated in a nearly empty room, that without a reservation they could not serve tea, and that we must order food if we were seated, and that we were not allowed to get up to go speak to our other friends who were seated 2 tables away from us. We were finally grudgingly seated and ordered food and other drinks, but service was terrible. When a nearby customer asked to take photos of our group ( we were dressed up with hats and nice clothes for the occasion) they said that wasn't permitted either. All in all the hotel staff were dismissive, rude, unhelpful, and clearly irritated by our presence, this was during the height of carnival on a quiet Saturday afternoon. The tea room was mostly empty. We had been excited to have tea in the beautiful hotel but this experience made it awful and we will not return.

Great location, nice rooms, and decent breakfast. Service is very good. Everyone from the front desk to the concierge was great to speak to and felt welcomed. I would stay here again.
On the flip side… Our room was facing the lagoon so it was pretty noisy at night. So keep that in mind if you get the lagoon facing room. The night service showed up the first night, didn’t show up the second night, and we had to call the third night. So not sure how that works and was a bit confusing.
