Wellton Riverside SPA Hotel

I booked a river side view room for three days. Beautiful view but bare in mind you'll get little to no sleep with the noise outside. From cars, to people shouting. Secondly it's two single beds pushed together, for a 4 star hotel expected much better comfort. Location walking distance to old town riga. Breakfast was lovely. Hotel called a taxi for me and journey that I paid €6 two days prior cost me €14 (I suggest you use the Bolt app or pay double the price). Beautiful hotel, but considering the rest I got in three days I wouldn't stay here again, three days with Breakfast cost me nearly €500.

Three of us checked in. I asked for the biggest room and a nice view since I'm staying a day longer than my colleagues. Unfortunately, I received a room with a view into a wall, which is okay. What's not okay is that I ended up with the smallest room among us, with a desk half the size of those in the other rooms, and the only one with a bathroom featuring a small shower, while the others have showers or baths. Otherwise nice and clean rooms.

Bathroom a bit dirty near the Tap and bathtub. Pets were not properly taken into account, there were no extra towels or water cups for the animals.

the spa department had a small 12.5m long 28°c swimming pool and a 12°c cold pool. you need to make a reservation and pay 20€ per person for the spa department, and you can only enter with a QR code, the spa is small but does its job satisfactorily, although I think I would skip it and save my money.

Nearby there is a McDonalds 600m away and a very easy walking route. The hotel breakfast is €16. Breakfast had multiple options, there was no traffic and good music, decoration and atmosphere, cheesecake, juice, snacks, waffles... Gluten-free options, but the only hand disinfectant pump in the breakfast place was empty, so hand hygiene was inadequate.

The windows were dirty.

The hotel does not have its own parking area, there is a parking area next to the hotel, but it is 40€/day and you can park in front of the hotel for 15 minutes.

The rooms are nicely decorated. The bed and pillows are pretty soft and you can sleep well. In the room, the entire floor is carpeted. There are no key card readers in the elevators. I think the staff friendliness could have some room for improvement.

A few days prior to our arrival I received an email with an offer to upgrade to River View room for a few Euros per night, which I accepted. On arrival, there was no note on our booking (despite my request), and our Standard room in the other building had a view of the internal courtyard with very little natural light so we had no idea what the weather was. We thought it was cloudy, but it was actually sunny day (photos show the view from our room and the room during the day).
We were also surprised that at '4* hotel', they don't clean rooms every day or replenish tea bags and toilet paper?

The positives were the breakfast, comfortable bed, good shower and easy access to the airport by bus 22.

Would I have known that Standard rooms have no privacy and are so dark I would have never chosen this hotel.
