I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at this 4-star hotel warrants it. In less than 24 hours, I faced two unsettling incidents that made my stay very uncomfortable.
Firstly, I booked the sauna yesterday, expecting a relaxing moment. Instead, seven teenagers accessed the sauna through the fitness room while I was using it. Despite asking them to leave and locking the door, they started knocking, creating a very unpleasant and distressing situation—especially as a woman. When I reported this to the reception, their only response was a casual "sorry," which is far below the standard of service expected from a 4-star hotel.
Secondly, today, I took the elevator to my floor. As I tried to exit, two young individuals entered and physically blocked my way out. When I asked, "Can I go out?" they mockingly replied, "No." This made me feel incredibly unsafe and unwelcome.
I chose a 4-star hotel expecting both comfort and security, but this stay fell far short of those expectations. I cannot recommend this hotel, particularly for women, given the lack of proper safety measures and the poor handling of such incidents by the staff.

Furniture in the hotel could use a refresh and it was rather cold in the rooms.
They provided us with an electric heater so we could endure the temperature.
Breakfast was decent, although it was the same everyday.

Had a pleasant stay at MONIKA. Room was quite large and clean. Mostly quiet environment. Only a 15 minute walk from the old town. Breakfast buffet is delicious and you’ve got a lot to choose from. Staff was really nice too.

We were pleasantly surprised by our visit. Obviously, things could be improved on, but it's a solid 3* hotel. Outdated, but the staff are friendly, and everything is clean and well presented. Good breakfast and a great location. The rooms were spacious, and the hitel had a cosy feeling.

It is okay!). Breakfast was good. Location is " more or less". Room is good, not big, but view on the street is interesting.
There is white bathrobe and slippers. Taxi they offer is a bit too expensive..better order on yourself something else:)) Hotel itself is beautiful creates lovely atmosphere.

Great base for exploring riga. Not in the old town but 20 min walk. Near to the art deco and central area of riga which have amazing restaurants. Great breakfast so much choice. Room smelled a bit musty but has everything you need, balcony and spacious bathroom. Would recommend, great value for money

A very nice hotel, conveniently situated close to the city centre and the old town. It is located in a beautiful historical building and the interiors are beautiful as well. My only complaint would be that the rooms' equipment is a bit old fashioned but that is not necessarily a bad thing I suppose.

Awful toilet. Fecal matter in toilet brush. Mildew in the shower. First night the AC didn't work at all. Next day it got fixed, but with a performance comparable to having an asthmatic penguin coughing from the ceiling. Breakfast was terrible. Bad selection and felt like a 90s school lunch.
Bed was hard as a rock and then 2 very small flat couch cushions as substitute pillows.
Since one of the bigger roads was close by, could use some sound deadening.
Very friendly and helpful staff though!
Can not recommend this hotel.

Rooms are spacious but old. The tiles in the bathroom are damaged, the bathroom is equipped with a tub with the curtain and shampoo is distributed in small packagings. The hotel looks stuck in the past. But breakfast was very good. Staff was nice.

Brilliant 5 night stay. Lovely spacious room and perfect bathroom. Comfortable bed.Had balcony but to cold to make use of it.
Breakfast was very good and had options for all tastes.
Staff were lovely and always helpful.
