Tiny bathroom and main bedroom. Unbelievably noisy. Next to bars that played loud music until 1 am. Everyone staying seemed to be making the same complaint. Kotor Old Town is very busy and has an active night scene. Breakfast OK but horrid omelettes which were like unseasoned pancakes. Friendly staff.
Really nice staff, drove us and our luggage back to our car in their golf cart. Room was comfortable and we liked the overall medieval vibe. Would definitely stay again!
We ate here twice, as a party of 7. Delicious bruschetta and antipasti platters. Great service and helpful waiter - Alexander. Would highly recommend.
This hotel is absolutely beautiful and the staff is lovely and helpful. However, the location is very loud at night. It is right between a jazz club and somewhere playing house music with people yelling and dancing in the streets. From our room it felt like we were right out with them until early in the morning. Additionally, our shower didn’t drain well and the bathroom was tiny (even by European...
We had a really lovely stay in the Monte Cristo, we were in the attic room which we really liked, it was clean and spacious with a comfortable bed. We did have some issues with bad smells from the bathroom drain, placing the bath mat over the drain seemed to help, but probably needs some attention. Reception staff were really kind and helpful, the restaurant staff we found to be a little mixed. Our...
The hotel is a beautiful place to stay in old town, Kotor. The only issue we had was that our room was directly above the jazz club with live music till around 1 AM. Friendly people to work with.

It is one of the best places we stayed in during our recent vacation in Kotor. The rooms are cozy and well appointed. Breakfast was really good with excellent choices. The central location makes the hotel ideal as we could reach most of the places we wanted to visit with ease. The gym, sauna and other amenities make it convenient and the overall service is excellent.
Excellent Location, large, comfortable beds, service second to none. Courtyard dining and refreshments in the sun is an outstanding experience to watch the world go by. Very well looked after by very attentive staff. Breakfast hot (Bacon/eggs/sausage etc) help yourself and cold, croissants, cakes, savouries, fruit, salads etc. coffee on tap in small cups so machine frequently visited! Large bed in...
Overall this hotel was lovely. A couple of things I found a little strange - e.g. when requesting to book the sauna in advance I was first told it could be booked until 10pm but later was told I was too late to book at 8.30pm. We were there early November at shoulder season and sometimes the restaurant would not be open in the evening although this wasn't made clear. However, the hotel was very comfortable...
I was very satisfied with Hotel Vardar. The rooms are very large and I had a beautiful view of the square and the walls. The breakfast was plentiful with many choices. In the maze of Kotor Old Town, this hotel is easy to find as it’s near the sea gate. I didn’t have any issues with noise, as others have reported, at the time of my visit. Highly recommend.
We loved our two nights at Hotel Vardar. The staff were very accommodating and upgraded us to a balcony room with great views of the square. The room was very spacious and the bed comfortable. It was also remarkably well sound proofed. We enjoyed the use of the gym (there is also a sauna) and complimentary breakfast which had a great range. We would love to come back and stay at Hotel Vardar.
We didn’t stay in the Hotel Varder but we had a wonderful dining experience in the restaurant. Great service, delicious meals with a beautiful setting. By chance we chose to eat lunch at the Varder when exploring the Old City in Kotor Montenegro. My group and I would make the Varder a destination next time in Kotor.

This hotel is very cute and located in the middle of old town. Very easy to get around. Even though it is on the main walking road, it is very quiet and we didn’t have problems sleeping. There is a terrace which has a good view of the old town, but we were told that reservation is needed. Would be great if there is more variety of breakfast options.
My friends and I went here for dinner and were blown away by the view at sunset from the rooftop patio. The most amazing musician was playing and it was incredible to see the view of the mountains with the sun going down. The food was excellent (get the burrata!) and the service was great!
A wonderful hotel restaurant in Kotor with a stunning terrace view. The food was excellent. The meat was well-cooked, and we loved the presentation of the octopus. We had the chance to chat with Chef Necip and thanked him for the delicious dishes. We definitely recommend it!
An Unforgettable Dining Experience!
Hippocampus is a true gem! The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between elegance and relaxation, making it an ideal spot to unwind and enjoy a quality meal.

A very nice boutique hotel right in the heart of the old city. The room was quite big and well equipped. The staff was super friendly and spoke many languages. Breakfast is a la carte so it’s quality versus quantity. They cook it to order. Overall a very nice stay. Recommended 👍🏼
We loved our stay at the Hippocampus. All of the staff we met were really friendly and welcoming. The room was large and comfortable and breakfast was good (although a little more variety would have been welcome). Great location near the main road. Great view. Very nice rooms
Very beautiful, quaint and cosy hotel with a baroque façade situated in the heart of the beautiful historic old town close to the main gate. I stayed in a room with a wonderful balcony overlooking the old town and so that was an advantage. The room is clean and spacious and has enough closet space.
A fantastic stay at Hotel Marija. This charming, nicely maintained old hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the old town, making everything incredibly accessible. We had the meatball special...it was excellent. The cabbage salad and accompanying soup were also delicious. Great value, great portion...super atmosphere...our server was very kind and attentive. We highly recommend!!
Had a wonderful meal with the family. A traditional meat ball dish served with mashed potatoes, cabbage salad, Veal Soup and a wonderful pancake dessert. Highly recommend Rendez Vous as the food is amazing and is very affordable. Definitely coming back during our stay in Kotor
This place was great. Nice atmosphere and friendly waiter. Was told they have a new menu and chef. We were impressed. Tried their new winter menu, and the food was amazing and priced reasonably. We had wine, gnocchi, as well as ravioli. Would recommend for dinner.
Stefan and all the staff are so friendly, helpful and good humoured. We visited twice and each time took the recommendations for their local meal of the day - perfect, fresh, more than plentiful and delicious. As was the hot chocolate and cocoa.
We also enjoyed the background music.
Ignore previous comments as Stefan has only taken over the restaurant for two months and is rebuilding the business...
Housed in a centuries old building, this family owned and operated restaurant and hotel is a charmer. A very cozy stay with professional and generous hosts. Perfect location for a stay in Kotor to discover the city & region. Also shoutout to restaurant La Catedral Pasta Bar. The long line (all evening) was warranted - so make a reservation or show up on time
This is tricky review because loved Kotor and when I met the manager of Antika, once the day after I checked in he was nice and made great suggestions. The rooms are stylish, cozy, and very clean, combining the charm of the old town with top-level comfort. The restaurant is a real delight ,delicious food, beautiful presentation, and impeccable service.

Definitely one of the best places in Kotor...
We had a great stay at this wonderful hotel. Breakfast food is well prepared and thought off. Rooms are clean and spacious, they use well branded shampoo, conditioners and body wash in the bathroom. The staff are amazingly attentive, polite, respectful and helpful. Being in the center of Old Town Kotor, it allows you access to everything you need during your stay.
Pros: wonderful location, good breakfast
Cons: stayed in two different rooms, both of which didn't have a working air conditioner - in 35 degree weather. Hotel couldn't even offer a fan. It was unbearable.
Nice location but place has strong pros and cons
The decor of the room is a bit gawdy. One can keep hearing many sounds and noise including the time bell which can be disturbing.
Food was just ok.
Tres lychee dessert was good.
But service of staff was very good.
Good thing is it’s in the old city and easy to go around.
Nice view from the room balcony
So take your pic accordingly
Great location, friendly staff, especially the receptionist, Adriana. My girlfriend and I relied on the great information she provided us with when we went visiting different spots, as we didn't really know what to see. In the old town, near the north gate. It's about a 15-minute walk from the bus terminal.

We had a great meal at Hotel Astoria Restaurant. While the food did take a bit of time to arrive, that was understandable since there was a large group dining at the same time. Despite the slight wait, the service was friendly and attentive.
The food itself was very good, and the vegan burger, in particular, was something different and definitely worth trying! Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience...
The restaurant menu looks promising, but when we dined there we were underwhelmed. They were clearly understaffed, with one poor waiter handling about twenty tables outdoors in the square. I’ve never sent a meal back, but when both our dinners arrived lukewarm, I really should have - damn Canadian politeness prevented me. The food itself was flavourful and would have really been great if it was hot...
Service was excellent. I had the Greek Salad. The vegetables were fresh like right off the vine. The feta cheese had a smooth flavor. The olives were wonderful. My wife had the spinach chicken pesto. The pesto smooth and not overpowering. Flavor of both dishes were balanced.
One of the best meals we had at our stay in Kotor!
The service was incredible, extremely friendly and very attentive. The steak and octopus was amazing. Would definitely recommend to anyone coming for the day or holiday.
Amazing place with a stunning interior. The hostess and a young waitress were so charming. They explained the occupied terrace is only for dinner/full meal in the evening and not just for deserts. We stayed 2 nights in this hotel. The hotel authorities were very helpful, especially I would like to thank Vedat Bey extra. During the time we were there, he made us very comfortable by showing a closeness that he would show to his family. The hamburger was quite delicious. We will definitely visit again.
This is a small and cosy hotel right in the middle of the old town. Great location and nicely presented accommodation. The stairs are small to go up so be prepared for that but the view is nice. An excellent place for an overnight stay and for a long stay in Kotor (Old town). The apartments are located in the old town. Cool hostess always ready to help!)

Large, beautifully restored room with good facilities and friendly staff. Good location within the city walls.
But: mattress far too soft, shower very small and big problems parking near the accommodation (either everything is parked or significantly too expensive)

We got a room with a terrace facing the fortified walls of the Old Town and the views were incredible. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Showers had good water pressure. Staff were extremely kind and helpful. We stayed for 3 nights and loved our stay.
Cosy and spacious rooms, nice view, huge balcony, basic kitchenware, facilities, very friendly staff - all that you need to enjoy the holidays. Old town is close as well as the beach.
