Hotel Matejko in Krakow

Very nice and friendly staff, luggage storage, convenient location, beautiful view outside the window, walking distance to nearby attractions, smooth check-in process, free breakfast

The location is good, very close to the train station and the old town, and can be reached on foot. The service is warm and friendly, the breakfast supply is sufficient, but it is a pity that there is no refrigerator in the room.
Overall, I still recommend it, the price and good location are worth it.

I stayed here for four nights. I had a double room with a private bathroom. The room was not very big, but OK. Clean, without too much noise from the street (except for the church bell across the street, which marks the hour), new furniture, in good condition. Large, clean bathroom, towels without signs of wear. Toiletries refreshed daily. One minus: in the shower there is no shelf for soap, shampoo. You have to put them on the floor... The cleaning staff was a bit inattentive. One evening, when I came back, around 11 pm, I found the window ajar/half opened. It's winter, though... There was a tiny TV in the room, with channels that were quite OK for a tourist (sports, news, music). Anyway, I didn't need it... Very good location, close to the train station (which you can easily get from the airport by train SKA1), close to the old town and the end of several buses. The reception staff was polite but cold. I don't remember seeing a single smile, they didn't even respond to greetings. Conclusion: an OK hotel, worth the money. You can pay by card.

This hotel was recommended to us by a family member. Great value and great location. However, our room on arrival was a good size, which at first was terrific. However, having got up really early for our flight we thought we’d have a little siesta before going back out again for dinner in the evening….not a good idea as our room overlooked a beautiful church. Sounds good , but it certainly was not when the bells at the church are rung every hour and then followed but an infuriating melody tune after each ring. No sleep was had that first evening or night and it starts again ridiculously early in the morning. So much for a relaxing break !!
After visiting reception the following day, they were fortunately able to relocate us to another room overlooking the courtyard. A dreary outlook , but so peaceful which was great.
I would recommend this hotel , as great location as walkable to all areas, but only if the room wasn’t within the noise of the church 🥹

This hotel is really great. I'm very satisfied. It's very quiet. The room is big. The breakfast is rich and delicious. The only hot food is scrambled eggs. Everything is great.

Excellent location, walking distance to Main Square and Railway Station. Kind and helping personnel. Tasty breakfast. Always happy to be back.

It's about a 5-minute walk from Krakow Central Station, and about a 10-minute walk from Krakow's Old Town, and other tourist attractions are within walking distance.

There's a convenience store just a 1-minute walk away. The building is old, as it's close to the Old Town. The staff are cheerful and friendly.

I also went to the Auschwitz Concentration Camp Museum and the Weliczka Salt Mine, so I would be using Krakow Central Station as a base for sightseeing, so it was important that the hotel was close to the station. I decided on this hotel because it was the best value for money.

It turned out to be a good choice.

By the way, there is no air conditioning or refrigerator. This is common in Europe.

It was very good for sightseeing near the old town. The room was also very spacious and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was also delicious.
