The Vagabond Club A Tribute Portfolio Hotel Singapore

I would give The Vagabond Club 5 stars but for two things. The location is just a bit too far out of the way. And the last night we were there, the hotel had a private event, on a Wednesday, and the dance music was blasting in our room until midnight. After that it was still too loud to sleep even with earplugs until I complained for the third time at 1 am. Then at least I could sleep with earplugs. The hotel did nothing to make this right. Very disappointing. Otherwise the hotel is so beautiful, the beds comfortable, and the staff wonderful. But given they did nothing about the noise problem nor discounted the room for that night, it's made it unlikely we'd go back.

We found all other reviews to describe the property quite well. It's a cozy and properly managed hotel with an unusual style and friendly staff. There is some noise from the street though.

Beware if you might have to check in early. The hotel will charge you extra. We arrived in the morning before the official checkin time, pretty tired from a long overnight flight from Europe. Even though a room was available they wouldn't let us move in without a hefty extra charge. The manager told us if we weren't willing to pay they could easily rent the room to someone else for a couple of hours. I never experienced anything like this elsewhere in Singapore, but they confrmed to us that this is the managments policy to make additonal money.

The promised to sent our invoice by mail but we didn't receive it.
