Hotel NuVe Heritage

Update of review:

Per National Registration Regulations paragraph 17.—(1) The owner, manager or other person in charge of any hotel, boarding house, hostel or other like dwelling place shall not accommodate any person, other than a person exempted from registration or re-registration under regulation 22, unless he is in possession of an identity card issued to him and produces it at the time of his request for accommodation to the owner, manager or other person.

Per the above, my identity details were produced but were subsequently rejected/returned to me by the staff working the counter at the time of check in. I offered to furnish her with any other details required verbally and was verbally turned down.

Kindly reach out to discuss the processing of a refund. The stay was and would have been unsuccessful due to the administrative procedures failed to take place by the front desk staff.

In short, this place is just not worthy of your time and money.

Here's what happened in the 10 minutes or so that we were there.

Upon entering, a majority of the main lobby was under construction. At the front desk, the receptionist already checked the details of my partner and thus requested mine. I was providing it via Singpass as I have done for many other hotels in Singapore. She requested for a screenshot of my Singpass IC to be emailed to them justifying it to be for their system and for the ease of future stays. We took the email down and went to the room. The room door doesn't 'click' to close. It can be pushed forward and backwards without using the handle at all. You have to lock the room door so it doesn't move. The phone in the room is vintage and it took awhile to figure out how to call front desk. I went to use the toilet. I lifted the cover and all I saw was a dark shade of brown. I asked my partner to come look. We tried to flush it down and it took 3 flushes to be clear. After using it, there were stains and a toilet brush was requested. I would need it for the 1-night stay since the toilet stains easily and it's poorly to leave it bloody red for the other occupant. I was told housekeeping needs it back because it belongs to them. Thereafter the receptionist reiterated "to email a screenshot of my IC from Singpass or they will have to treat me as a guest and ask me to leave by 11pm".

Guess what, the Singpass app does not allow the taking of screenshots. Because this is not supposed to be done. It's wrong to share information this way.

The whole vibe of the place was just off. It was an unsafe, unsettling and a lacking of hospitality service feeling when we were there. When we left as quickly as we came, we were just told there's no refund on the way out. Please think it over if you're booking with them.

I would not recommend it. For the same price, you could be staying somewhere easily accessible and secure.
