Reviews
Worst customer service I have seen in years, and certainly has tarnished my image of Thai as a country and of their people. Not returning ever.
However, the front desk staff lacked warmth. Even when I paid to extend my stay, their attitude was quite indifferent. It felt like I was being a burden rather than a welcomed guest. The security staff were more approachable and respectful.
I appreciated the staff’s attentiveness during the earthquake, and overall, the quietness at night made my stay memorable.
The waiters and waitress are friendly, the receptionist could speak english a little bit.
From this hotel, there is a river, and you can go to pratunam by crossing the river using boat for 30 mins (this info i got from the local people, i dont try this)
From resturant Ms. Jeab was really helpful and kind person, provide good hospitalty service and wonderful at all with smile face. Thank you Ms. Jeab for your service and kindly help me.
The place doubles as semi-permanent residences and that was one of the rooms I received. The room was big and cleaned regularly. Amenities were good and seemed very secure. The restaurant in the lobby has a breakfast buffet which my booking did not include but I ate there once anyway (THB 150). I found it merely adequate but I will admit there was a lot of choices including vegetarian and a whole Indian section (reflecting the clientele).
The room was a great value although it seemed to cater to groups and as a solo traveler, I didn’t feel particularly cared for.
There was a lingering smell of fresh paint which persisted as well as construction noises implies constant renovations but overall that didn’t decrease my overall satisfaction.
The main drawback was the distance to the Ramkhamhaeng station which I walked but is not recommended. It is in close proximity to The Mall (that’s the name of the shopping center) with a supermarket, some restaurants, some food stands , a few shops and a Starbucks.
I enjoyed walking around the area and eating at local places although there isn’t particularly anything of note. Taking a ferry up and down the river to get around the area is an adventure.
If I find a need to return to the area, I will likely find a place closer to the station but I can still recommend Thomson Hotel because it is a strong value. Any savings made could easily pay for taxis and other transportation.
