Erten Konak Mini-hotel

My experience at this hotel was profoundly disappointing. It was advertised as wheelchair-accessible, yet the reality was entirely contrary. The accommodations and services failed to meet the basic accessibility requirements. I strongly advise any wheelchair user to avoid this establishment.
The advertised pictures are not accurate. There beds are very small.

Having visited Istanbul on several times, this was by far the atrocious hotel I have ever encountered. The primary purpose of this review is to caution others—especially those traveling with individuals who have a physical impairement —to avoid this property at all costs.

Very disappointed and disheartened as my family member felt really upset it was his first time to Turkey.
Beware! They ask for your passport and make you sign an agreement even though everything is booked before hand and they keep copies. I don't why they do this? And what's written in the agreement. Please check before you commit. I would not trust them .

Strange stinking smell from the toilet.

Don't waste your money or time! They very harsh and abrupt and will not give a refund. Even though we hardly used the hotel.

Worst hotel and service ever received. This hotel advertised as wheelchair accessible, but it's anything but. If you are a wheelchair user, please stay well away.

When we arrived at 2am, the hotel reception staff (short man with beard) looked at my disabled brother in the wheelchair and just shook his head. The road to the hotel is very difficult to reach by car as it's a small side street cobble stone path.

The hotel is not suitable for anyone using a wheelchair as it has huge steps for the entrance and also internally. Even the ground floor.

Further, I stayed for one night only and then booked another hotel the following day.

Later, the hotel refused to provide a refund (for the nights I didn't stay) and showed no remorse for the stress and difficulty their lies about wheelchair access had on our trip. Very poor service.

Hotel not suitable for children at all as the floors creak and you can hear the rooms underneath, upstairs and next door. If you make a small sound at night staff and other guests complain. The bathroom is really small. I am 6ft. Could not stand upright in it. The AC was hardly working so it was really stuffy and hot at night, not great, especially for young children.

Further the pictures of the rooms advertised on booking.com are not what the rooms look like at all.

Only good thing was location if you sre fully abled person. It is an uphill but short 7 to 10min walk to Blue Mosque main area.

I've been to Istanbul over 5 times, this was the worst hotel by far.

The main purpose of this review is to help someone else. Especially if you or someone you are travelling with is a wheelchair user, please stay away.

Upon walking into our room I noticed that it was extremely small and the room felt crammed as it had large furniture in the way leaving no room to walk around the bed. I also saw thick layers of dust on the furniture and saw hair on the pillows. The mini fridge in the room had an awful smell coming from it and had brown stains and goo inside it. Moving to the bathroom the light flickered and the bottom of the shower was broken. In the cups to hold toiletries near the mirror there was dried toothpaste and other residue and dust in the room. Under the toilet rim there were hairs, the shower had black mold. The shower appeared as though it had not been cleaned since last use.

I stayed here for a week and when returning to my room I found that my contact lens had been put into the toilet along with the cardboard inner tube of toilet roll. After reporting this to the manager he accused me of doing this, I told him that I had come back and seen them in the toilet again he said I must have thrown my contact lens cases in the toilet.
The cereal for breakfast time was also left uncovered from the day when I arrived til the day I left.

I must say the lady who assisted breakfast in the morning was very polite and helpful.

I don’t usually write reviews but I wanted to let people know my experience and I wouldn’t recommend booking in here.

I was walking at night and my phone ran out of battery. I entered the hotel asking for help (to charge my phone or for directions) and they kicked me out aggressively. The receptionist didn't know English at all and instead of trying to understand or using an app to communicate he just screamed and chased me out of the hotel.
I wonder, what if I wanted to ask for a room, or worse... If it was my first day in Istanbul and I cannot access my hotel for this receptionist. Terrible serve, I don't recommend it at all
Additionally everything is dirty, it's not a 4 star hotel in any sense.

First of all, there is no lift. We were given 4th floor. The reception who checked in us didnt even bother about our luggage. We were three ladies with heavy luggage because we were in Austria for three weeks and stopped by three days in Istanbul. The room is dusty. They have all the ancient stuff as decos and it seems all of it were very very dusty and not cleaned for ages. The toilet was dirty, and whenever we took bath the shower flooded. The room light takes almost 30 min to turn on. There is no water to drink in the hotel which is quite surprising and when we ask the reception he told us to buy in a convenient store. Only on the last day when we checked out, there was another receptionist who was very very kind to help with our luggage. I will not recommend this hotel at all
