Super clean and cozy hostel which is well located, in the touristic Old City part, within walking distance to all major attractions, in a quiet relaxing part of town that is nearby to all the big sights, shops and restaurants.

Extremely friendly, helpful and respectful staff which makes you feel home and safe. It is also a coffee shop where you can relax and sit quietly and drink great coffee at the same time. By the way, their coffee was really good ☕️

I enjoyed my stay, I would really recommand it.

Booked for 3 nights, double room in building with the roof terrace. Warm welcome from owner and then shown to room which was in the cafe building and a very basic twin room. Unfortunately we were too tired to question it and after a bad night's sleep on an old sagging mattress and a room well below our expections (it's badly in need of refurbishment) and a polystyrene tray breakfast in our room, we decided to check out. No refund given and booking in Hostel World cancelled so unable to leave a review there!
Whilst it is central, I would not recommend The Local as it really needs to improve the room and overall quality of the offering for the price being charged

This served my needs well. The room was spacious and clean. The location is in the old city easy to get around from here. The manager is very friendly and helpful. He loves his football & off course his freind the cat. The cat (I forget the name) is beautiful and has a lovely nature. The coffee is good. If I had to be critical I would say the breakfast is just an offering and very small. For the money it was perfect for me :)

Cruel, disrespectful owner. Stopped here for a coffee and everything was just great until the owner of this place showed up and spent five minutes yelling at his employee, trying to humiliate her calling her dumb girl, stupid girl, and kept on and on and on. No idea what was wrong , though nothing excuses that kind of cruelty. Once I walked in to pay, and he realized I could hear him, he smiled at me as if nothing was wrong. I paid, and on my way out I was so angry that I asked him if he spoke to his mother and sisters that way- he got REALLY angry and got in my face yelling “adieu!” as I walked out. This owner deserves nothing good!

Scam! No breakfast buffet instead it's dry bread, warm cheese and one packet of instant coffee which gets put together the night before. Cheese and meats are not in the fridge overnight. Also it's expected you do the dishes yourself. The private room is directly above the train tracks and the window doesn't properly close so it's very loud. Shower was the barely usable. They cancelled the stay as a "no show" after we left so I can't give a review on the platform I used to book.

Friendly, clean and safe hostel situated 5 mins from Hagia Sofia in the Old Town, with free breakfast as a perk. Only complaint was the slightly decrepit dorm, which had no power socket, broken curtains and a wooden bed rail on the top bunk (room 5) which had almost snapped off (not very safe!).That said, the great atmosphere and friendly hosts more than made up for it. Would recommend

Horrible experience in this wanna be tourist-friendly hotel. If the locals live like this, I am really sorry for that.
First night we didn’t sleep at the hotel and they brought us to another room for a reason they never made clear to us. Then second night they brought us to a dungeon telling us this is our room. The breakfast that was included we missed it the first day without being refunded and here is what we got served as breakfast the second day : (see pictures).
The door of our room is broken and tram passes by with a noise that doesn’t let you sleep.

Beautiful and original hostel in Istanbul’s historic Sultanahmed district. The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful, the breakfast is great and the rooms are tasteful and very comfortable. Definitely a very good choice to stay!
