Manesol Boutique Galata

The best thing about this hotel is it's location close to the Galata tower, but while the staff are very helpful, its tired and in need of renovation. We had two different rooms, both of which had small things which didn’t work from hair dryers to leaking showers and heavily stained carpets. Be aware that a lot of rooms have no windows. It has a rooftop restaurant for breakfast which is nice and one of the better breakfast buffets. Its comes up as a 4* hotel, but I think thats too high for what it is.

Strange one this one, at its core it's a nice hotel in an excellent spot, close to amenities and transport but the hotel and are just a bit tired.

Our first room didn't have air conditioning and when the staff arrived to fix it, his attitude felt like our presence was a burden. We were moved to a second room and the extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work. We mentioned it to reception but we're heading out and asked them to look at it, I doubt they ever did.

The hotel is really dark. Corridors, bar area, lift, bedroom. Some feel like energy saving but mostly it's seems intentional, having very little light on the bathroom is weird.

Breakfast which starts at 0730hrs only had a few hot items by 0800hrs and consisted of strange scrambled eggs, chips and pizza. The labels were all wrong and didn't offer much variety from cheese and herbs.

The rooms are okay, gloomy, curtains don't fully extends across the window, aircon is good, very little floor space and certainly carpets aren't cleaned very well.

I probably wouldn't choose to stay here again, but it is adequate for the two nights we stayed.
