Wonderful stay in a charming hotel close to the Galata Tower. Rooms lovely but I would recommend booking the suite type rooms as the others are very small. Stand out during our stay was the charming Şevval on the front desk. She went out of her way to help us with bookings, recommendations etc. She even went as far as coming to us at the restaurant next to the hotel to help us with a reservation!! She is amazing and the hotel is very lucky to have her.

We had booked 4 rooms 3month back and upon arrival the hotel management said only 1 room is available. We believe the hotel management has OVER BOOKED the room and made us wait at the reception area for 2 hours. This has ruined our evening at istanbul! 9 of us stranded in an unknown country! The worst experience.. the receptionist was not at all helpful in fact was rude !

We had booked this hotel 3 months ago for our visit in Istanbul , we are a group of 9 people with a child and we are still waiting since last 3 hrs and the reception guy says 4 rooms are not available due to some technical issue …. Pathetic service by the staff here who is not ready to take any responsibility and says speak to ur online booking portal and ask for a refund … this behaviour towards international tourists is very stressful and has spoilt our itinerary… all hotels over here especially Marodi group of hotels be careful by such crooks …

Stayed here for several nights for a family reunion. Location is excellent and hotel has nice rooms and great roof top restaurant and bar. Close to Istiklal street with great shopping. Easy trips to old town and Asia side. Service was sensational. Can’t wait to come again.

The best hotel I have ever been!
1. The staff is absolutely amazing! They do everything to make you feel welcome and make your stay perfect! Huge thank you to Samira, Kadir and Batula who really went above and beyond. From the very beginning, they had great communication and made sure every need we had was taken care of.
2. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous. Going to bed with a view of Galata Tower is just something else!
3. The rooftop terrace and the breakfast there steals the show. As amazing as everything else was, this was the best part. We spent very morning there with a view over Istanbul and it was just perfect!
I really don’t exaggerate when I say that our stay there was perfect and that we cannot wait to go back. I have never had a stay where everything was just so spot on.

We had a terrific stay at the Meroddi Barnathan - it is in a funky location, near vintage stores, cafes, bars, shops and a short walk to the Galata Bridge and into the old Town.
The service was excellent - it felt like a bit of old school customer service. And the breakfast - it is worth it just for breakfast spread. Seriously impressive.

I only have positive feedback about the property. The service is great, we stayed 5 nights, the staff was always greeting with a smile, they are very polite and friendly.
The rooms are very clean and beautiful. The whole property is atmospheric and beautiful. The location is perfect to visit places on foot or by public transportation.
Will definitely stay again!!!

We paid 64 euro a night for deluxe room with sea view.
Pro's
- The room was at good standard and looks newly renovated.
- coffee machine, robe, safe, aircondition, minibar
- breakfast is ok, nothing special
- friendly service and especially helpful receptionist
- close to Metro
Con's
- extremely noisy rooms. I usually do not care about noise when i sleep. The sound from the street was not a problem, but you could hear people in the hallway extremely well and would wake me up during the night.
- our room had galata tower and some sea view, but the room was looking down on a big parking lot that destroyed some of the charm. In none of the official pictures you can see this.
- our room is so small you cant open luggage on the floor
Conclusion. The hotel is nicely located and is newly renovated. For around 70-100 euro it's alright, but don't pay anything more. Except a lot of noise and waking up during the night.

Really smart and well presented hotel in the bustling Galata area. Rooms are clean with excellent bed linen and towels refreshed daily too. Lovely interiors too being a historic building. Staff were very warm and welcoming and willing to help when I was having issues with the air conditioning. The only thing that lets it down is the quality of the breakfast. Very disappointing considering the wonderful views from the rooftop terrace. The selection of continental items are low quality and seem random. It'd be much better if they offered a-la-carte breakfast. If you do stay here, do not book breakfast with your room as there are so many better places to have breakfast in the city.

If you want to experience Istanbul in its essence, Meroddi Barnathan Hotel is the right choice. It has a perfect location that allows easy access to all important places. The view from the roof terrace is enchanting, you have the Bosphorus and the Galata Tower in front of you and you can enjoy it during breakfast or an evening drink. The rooms were warm, nicely decorated and clean. The breakfast was also excellent and catered for all tastes. What gave a personal touch to our stay there was the warmth and kindness of the staff, always ready to help and answer any questions and thus make us feel at home. Special thanks to the receptionist Senol as well as Mehmet and Yilmaz. I also want to thank the restaurant staff, especially Omer, Emir and the rest, you made our trip perfect and unforgettable.
