We live about an hour away from the parks but wanted to stay at a Universal hotel to make our time away from work more convenient and relaxing. Having such a close proximity to the parks was great. If you stay at the hotel, walk over to the Sapphire Falls hotel to take the water taxi instead of taking the buses to and from City Walk. It is much more relaxing and enjoyable. The buses are crowded and the windows are blocked out, so you can't see the road and it feels like your stuffed into a box. The view we had of Volcano Bay was fantastic. My biggest complaint was that hotel vehicles run late at night and beep when they back up, and this would occur throughout the night. I had to sleep with earplugs to block our the noise. The Bayliner Diner was very convenient and offers a great selection of menu items. You're paying resort food prices, so don't expect typical pricing, even for an 8 oz. orange juice, which is $6, as is a bottle of water. The registers have plastic cups and we used those to get water for free from the fountain machines. The pool areas are nice and I am satisfied with our stay overall.

The only thing I can say, is the access into the parking lots are tricky sometimes, the key doesn’t work too well and you have to keep entering the card room key in order to gain access into different parts of the hotel. Other than that, it was a very perfect stay!!!
Staff is incredibly friendly and there is quite a few places to eat in and around the resort! Plenty if things to see and do with a bar nearly at every angle..
I love the retro vibe and the rooms had no issue!

My husband and I recently stayed at Cabana Bay for 6 days to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We had the most AMAZING experience! For the moment we checked in, everyone was super friendly. They gave us an anniversary pin to wear throughout the week.
The rooms were super cute and clean. I’m a huge mid century modern enthusiast and this hotel was like a dream come true! Every aspect of the hotel all the way down to the Zest soap/V05 shampoo is spot on! They did a phenomenal job capturing every single detail.
We loved that they have a microwave and small fridge in our room (we made breakfast and dinner in our room. The gym is awesome, the pool is super fun….everything was so wonderful!
If we ever make it back to FL, we will definitely be staying at Cabana Bay! We love them!

First time my wife and I have stayed at any Universal resorts and it will definitely not be the last!!! Loved the retro decor, these ease of checking in, the shops, food and bars
. The lazy river was nice to chill in, the different pools and the view of Volcano Bay was awesome!! Every staff member greeted us with a smile from the check in to the housekeepers!! And best of all the pricing was very reasonable!!! The only issue I could see for non early risers is the music at Volcano Bay in the room we had started at 730am and felt like we were in the park. But other than that it was an amazing stay!!!

Good room but needs touch ups badly. We stayed in the family suite 2 bedroom with volcano view ...paid a pretty penny just needs some touch up. The housekeeping staff is amazing very sweet. Wish the pool had a more convenient entrance from the expensive tower rooms. Went to the splash pad side my 5 yr old was only on in it after 5 min he had a chemical burn. Notified the life guard they came and tried to help I then asked to rinse him off as I work with chemicals at work and saw the signs. The showers next to the pool were all broken. They pointed me to a single stall bathroom where I rinsed him in the sink . His skin started to feel better. Took about a day for the rash to go away they tested the water said the levels were fine but then came over and told me other kids reported similar instances previously in the splash pad area. After researching it could be bacteria built up in the splash pad fixtures mixing with the chemical and causing the burns. Really wish they would renovate and fix broken items life the pool side showers. The lazy River was great and the guest service counter for tickets the gentleman working the counter the evening of 9/21 was amazing.

I freaking love this place. The first day we stayed it rained but there is so much to do here. They have an arcade room, bowling, a bunch of food, shopping, you name it. The second day we stayed we got to enjoy the pools, and lazy river. They have a place to buy Cool rafts. The bars offer a drink mug which you can put another drink in for a discounted price. The rooms are big and we had a great view of the pool area. You are able to access the surrounding resorts with your key as well. As adults, we were able to feel like kids and it was such an amazing time. Will DEFINITELY be coming back!

This hotel is great for people who want to save some money. Shuttle to city walk is free. Early admission to volcano bay and Harry potter. Staff has always been friendly. Rooms look and feel updated and clean. Parking does cost money but if you drive to the parks it's more or the same amount. Definitely recommend!

This resort is family friendly with lots to do on resort. Very clean, well maintained and run. There is a large selection of food variety and even lots of gluten free options which I need. It's a beautiful hotel. There is amazing bus service to universal, we never had to wait when going to and from the universal park. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with or without children.
