Hotel Doro City in Tirana

The best in town?

Doro City hotel is an old fashioned hotel with few amenities. We were a group staying at the hotel. We spent little time actually in the hotel so it was ok. One tiny elevator serving all the guests. I would have preferred a hotel with a kettle and waste basket in the room. Also shower gel in the bathroom.

Nice hotel, beds were comfortable. And thats what matters most, because we only stayed for one night. Not really a modern hotel, but with good free wifi. Helpfull and friendly personnel. Breakfast was fine. Car could be parked af the parking lot, at five euro.

They took care of me while I was sick, and I really appreciate that!

4 days in Tirana
Location is good, room is specious, furniture is good, bathroom needd update, bed was moderate comfort, breakfast was very basic.
Big shopping mall (Tirana ring center) was around the corner.
Airport bus didn't mind dropping us by this shopping mall, saved us time and money.

I admit I was surprised by how nice this hotel was. The room featured a huge double bed, complimentary fruit and cookies on plates when I arrived, strong air conditioning, a huge bathroom including a bidet, a large dining room for the complimentary daily breakfast, and helpful staff 24/7 (especially Fiodor). It's about a 25 minute walk to Skandenberg Square and all the sights through a safe and pleasant neighborhood. The hotel clerk at checkout actually saved me from missing my bus since the main bus station was shut down May 1st and all buses now use East Bus Station. However, the taxi driver summoned by the hotel had never heard of it (!) and didn't know where it was. He called the dispatcher and she didn't know either. Fortunately, the hotel clerk knew and told my driver in Albanian how to get there, so I made it in time after all. I'm not impressed with the taxi company they use but I am impressed by the hotel staff's knowledge of the area and thank him for his help. Be aware that the East Bus Station is not walkable--it is several kilometers away by highway, about 20 minutes by taxi. I had originally booked this because it was 2 minutes walk from the main bus station (which may never reopen apparently). In short, this hotel is an excellent value and I recommend it highly. Thanks again to that morning clerk (whose name I did not get) and also to Fiodor.

I wanted to come to Tirana for a very long time. I found out that the country was open for vaccinated travelers, so I jumped at the chance to come to this fascinating and beautiful place. Tirana did not disappoint, as the city is spotless, the malls plentiful, and the WiFi very fast in all of the coffee cafes I visited. My hotel was easy to find, and not too far from the Central Bus Station for Tirana. I walked to the Hotel and found it next to its sister hotel off of one of the large Boulevards that cross the Capitol City. My room was spotless, with nice views of the surrounding neighborhood. My breakfast was delicious, with many Albanian delicacies as well as fresh Latte Macchiatos. I look forward to coming back very soon!

Great overall except room WiFi is a bit dodgy.
