Granda Hotel in Tirana

The room and bathroom were new and spacious, which we appreciated. There was even a kettle in the room, though we had to ask at the reception desk for tea, which we expected to be provided.

What we didn’t like: We were informed that breakfast starts at 7 am, and despite giving advance notice, the hotel was unable to provide anything as a takeaway option – not even fruits or snacks. We found this disappointing, especially since we had informed them well ahead of time.

Additionally, after booking, we requested parking and were told it would be an additional €5. However, on the day of our arrival, we received a text stating that parking was subject to availability. This was frustrating since we had reserved in advance but could have arrived to find no parking space. The parking area itself was extremely narrow, making it difficult to park and to maneuver the car when leaving in the morning.

The location is convenient for driving to the airport, but the surrounding area felt unsafe. We had originally planned to drive to the city center, but between the heavy traffic and the parking challenges, we decided against it. It’s about an hour’s walk to the center, so next time, we would definitely stay closer to the city center for convenience.
