The biggest problem I had was that I had paid for an upgraded room with AC and when I arrived what I had in my room was a Dyson style fan that was great at moving the air around the room as long as it was cool, but when the temperatures rose the room became incredibly hot and uncomfortable.
On my first day I went downstairs to explain to the front office clerk that I had reserved a room with AC and is it possible I was placed in the wrong room. She informed me that that was the air conditioner and a room move wasn't possible. It wasn't until the next morning when I spoke with another desk clerk that they informed me that I was put in the wrong room, basically downgraded, and that they should have moved me to the proper room for the price that I was paying.
It's unfortunate that my first impression of this hotel was negative, because the building really is interesting and has some great architectural details, you really feel the history of the neighborhood within its walls. But I don't think I will be giving this property a second chance when I return next month to the area.
The bathroom was very smelly. Maybe something wrong with the drainage. Also the shower head didnt work properly.
No facilities to make tea or coffee in the room.
Quite confusing layout . Someone to bring you to the room on arrival would have been helpful.
I had an issue with my initial booking . I booked the wrong dates and didnt notice this until the day we arrived. Although the hotel were able to offer us accommodation we had to pay again. I have tried to contact the hotel by email a number of times to sort this out but have never received a reply.
