Schulz Hotel Berlin Wall at the East Side Gallery in Berlin

As I travel often for work I've learned that to me a hotel needs to provide a couple of basic things. First and foremost, a good bed/matras. Well, this hotel failed by 100%. The bed is made up of a wooden multilayer plate with holes drillend in to it covered by something that would have been sold as a matras probably. Combined they were as comfy and soft as a rock. Yes, it's all hip, great location, the rooms have numbers and names, the app roomkey system is a perfect example of over-digitalization, it's just not that convenient. But please, a normal quality bed should be provided as a basic, if not core value, by a hotel. The things this hotel call beds are rockhard and provide nothing but a night filled with agony followed by a day filled with shouder, back and hip pains. Oh, and to complete the bad experience. They have a luggage room where you can store your things. The door will open when you pay, no supervision by any staff members, service? I'll never go back there.

Location is great, forcing an app that I don't know any of the source of etc, that won't work unless you give it every single permission it wants (even notifications) is a dick move, the walls are so thin I could hear housekeeping coiling the wire on the hoover in the hall, that they had just used to wake me up at 9am. The pillows are terrible, more like air sacks with no structure or support, the bed was lumpy and again soft with no support. Remainder of room was okay but not great no fridge or anything. A/C would blow cold when you had it on full fan but that sounded like a jet taking off and on auto it did nothing. Bedding is also cheap manmade fibres so I was sweating the whole night.

Genuinely would not stay here again,
