It would have been a better place.
The direct white light in your face when you're on the top bunk - that's what makes it all hellish.
No curtains no peace and calming shade and especially there's no normal night.
Staff was nice and helpful, the hostel has a good guest "kitchen".

We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. Aseer at the reception was brilliant friendly and professional. Breakfast was ok no many choice but alright. Bathroom needed more attention especially the toilet seat. Overall good hotel and location.

Disappointing and Unhygienic Stay
I recently stayed at the a&o Hostel in Düsseldorf, took a private room, and it was an incredibly disappointing experience. From the moment we arrived, cleanliness was clearly not a priority. There was hair on the bed in our first room, and we discovered ants in the bathroom. Initially, we tried to ignore these issues, but when we found ants on the bed, it became impossible to stay. We had to go through the inconvenience of changing rooms at 2 AM, which completely disrupted our night.
To make matters worse, even in the new room, there was hair on the bed again! It’s unacceptable to deal with such unhygienic conditions. The breakfast was equally poor, with almost no options, and the food quality was subpar. For the price they charge, you'd expect at least basic cleanliness and decent service, but unfortunately, they offer neither.
Would not recommend staying here.

Not gonna lie, the rooms were practically falling apart in some places (bunch of loose parts on the rails of the bunk beds and even a top rail missing, the radiators top covers were bent and deformed. A thing fell off in the bathroom after I just touched it.) but the service was good. The beds themselves were comfy though would recommend a second pillow since the pillows they provide are almost non existent. The lounge area and cafeteria were both immaculate with little to nothing to complain about there. For such a cheap price it's pretty much what you would expect and a bit more. Would recommend.

VERY helpful staff. Great price for a small room. The lobby is a great place to chill while you're waiting for your train/plane. They also have a luggage room where you can leave your stuff for up to 24 hours. Overall, good vibes. I've been backpacking for a little over a week, and last night was exactly the recharge I needed. Would absolutely come back again.

Perfect location, very central and easy to access. Check in was very smooth and fast. Receptionists were very friendly and professional. I even asked them a lower bed in dormitory and he immediately found one. Nice Service in the Bar until early morning. Overall, i will go back for sure.

I stayed for 3 nights and the rooms are well equipped.
Employers are great, must highlight
- ATA: Really servicial and he know everything to solve your questions very kindly and efficiently.
- MARK: He stayed behind the bar and was nice spend time chatting with him. Hard worker at busy times. Plus, he provides to me a lovely pizza under my preferences. CRISPY!

Staff was very friendly, Rooms were nice and clean. We tried to extend our reservation and they did their best to find a room for us during Europa football matches.

The hotel service is nothing to write about. The rooms are small and get heated up very much and don't cool down quickly. Furthermore the windows only open half, so there is limited ventilation.
The lift was out of order and we had to carry our luggage up to the 6th floor by stairs.
The breakfast and central location are probably the only redeeming quality of the hotel.

Stayed in a shared bedroom with dedicated toilet/shower.
The room was large and quite clean, though the shower was leaking and the shower door wouldn't close properly.
