Great comfortable hotel with good spa and a restaurant.

When you first come to the hotel, it looks nice but not overwhelming. The quality of the cars parked at the entrance is a good indicator of what to expect. The online images of the lobby do not in any way convey the grandeur of the place The place opens up in a cavernous space, seemingly breaking at least a few laws of nature. The staff is friendly and all in fluid English.

The hotel is located in front of Koenigallee. The nearby U-Bahn station is D-Graf-Adolf-Platz. So it's located not too far from the old town (everything is walkable IMHO). Well, due to renovation, no room upgrade and executive lounge, located at a restaurant, proved to be a subpar experience. Staff were nice and professional. Took taxi / uber to the city center as it takes about 30 minutes by foot. I'd wait until renovation is completed before visiting again.

excellent in most aspects for a business hotel. most front desk staff are not so friendly or enthusiastic. i waited until 1630 to get my room because it was not cleaned. room aircon didn’t work even with the window closed, but luckily it was cold outside. walking distance to the Rhine riverside park, and following the river brings you to the old town.

We had a great experience with this Hilton. Had a small hiccup at check-in (room not ready at 2:30pm). But afterwards, I as a Gold Member got upgraded to the best suite. Special thanks to Victor for arranging this and making our stay so pleasant & memorable!

Good hygiene that was up to standards. There was a working airconditioning and a good blowdryer. The location was okay since it’s close to the places we wanted to visit, but if you want to go to Little Tokyo or Altstadt you have to pass the train station, which feels shady and unsafe at night. I also missed toothpaste and slippers in the room. Overall I had a nice experience!

The hotel service is warm, clean and tidy. The room is warm. The hotel is in a good location. The view is great. The front desk girl is enthusiastic. The room price is cost-effective. I have more than one comfortable and pleasant stay experience.

If you expect any kind of service or help from the employees, this isn’t the right hotel for you. The reception forgot my request for a phone charger despite me asking three times and waiting five hours. Parking in the hotel garage costs 35€ a day.

Great hotel all round but was disappointed in no vanity and tooth brush kits all weekend. The water refill in the fridge could also be improved.  No hard boiled eggs for my pregnant wife. We were told it’s only soft. Amazing room none the less

Great location opposite the hotel there is free parking you can reach the city center by public transport in 10 minutes we would be happy to come back

The Van Der Valk hotel is absolutely stunning inside, the rooms are very spacious and comfortable. I didnt use the Restaurant so i cannot advise on that but thr Bar is comfortable ,but service can be slow when busy ,only to be expected. Overall i highly rate it

More than anything I liked the King size bed and mattress and the bathroom , equality materials and hot water at all times. It should be considered having kettles in the hotel rooms.

Booked 1 night for a trade fair visit in Essen, a fifteen minute drive away. Great hotel, nice clean rooms, good bed and TV with Dutch channels Excellent breakfast with a choice between continental and English breakfast. Free parking spaces Much cheaper than comparable hotels in Essen during the fair periods.

The location was perfect, especially being close to the famous harbor. The behavior of the employees, especially Amal and Evita (the day receptionists), was warm and kind. I had a fantastic stay over the weekend. The service was outstanding, and I especially want to thank Sherzod for being incredibly helpful and attentive. Close enough to the train station. The executive rooms are a bit too much on the technology that is not that useful. Housekeeping disturbs you even though you set the do not disturb sign outside your door. The breakfast is ok.

The location is not too far from hbf and the room is quite spacious. It’s an old building and room feature.

A bit old atmosphere, but for the rest a nice hotel. Breakfast is very good. People are friendly. Location is perfect next to Altstad. Everything is walkable, but if you want a cheap Uber or a Lime step or bike are around the corner. Rooms are outdated, at least the one we were in. Bathroom very small, but shower nice and warm. Bed was good size, but also bit old. So I didn't have the best night sleep
