Where to stay in Koln

We stayed as a family and when we booked the room, it wasn't clear that children under 12 are expected to stay in the same bed as the parents. So basically, there is 1 bed. We had no idea about this when booking as every other time we book for 3, it is made very clear the setup of the room. Some brands even tell you it isn't a family room. Great location and a bit like taking a step back in time in a slightly weird and spooky experience! Automated check in is efficient just impersonal. Only ever met the doggy behind reception which was cute. All the rooms are unique and some are quite "special". This said, all clean and all working. Very good small hotel. Clean room, very nice staff! Only the bathroom are with old sanitarium and without any accessories / even no soap/ at least there are towels. But is at perfect location! I would visit it again.

Well... it's good for a night or two. It was OK for the price I payed. It's clean but not up to date. The mattress is unbelievably soft. They give you a voucher for a free beer for the pub downstairs. I can't complain about anything. If you're looking for a place to sleep while touring the city - this is good. Amazing value I would 100% recommend no complaints at all, I was able to enter at 3AM due to our late flight with no problems. Keys are on phones so are very easy. Just the best hotel I could have gone too.

The room is small, but the interior is clean and chic. Close to the Deutz station. One bottle of mineral water is free. Free wifi.

The location was quite difficult to find. The location is convenient. There's no elevator, so the hotel staff helped me carry two heavy suitcases upstairs. I appreciated that. The room was nice and clean.

Because of Covid-19, I only have had the experience of the food being delivered. This restaurant really makes great German food. I had the champignon medaillons and ooh my.. it tastes so good! The panna cotta is also amazing. Absolutely worth it.

Very nice hotel, close to the center. Just keep your window closed at night during the week because the start working at 7 am. We stayed in the appartement and realy liked it. Very nice to visit Phantasialand (15min away) There is an amazing Chinese restaurant (Orchidee) close by. Just go straight to the center and it's at the roundabout.

Great hotel if you're looking at doing Cologne on a budget, needs some modernisation in the common areas however actual rooms were always clean and tidy. About one mile from the train station and half a mile from all the best eaterys and bars.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 days. The receptionist was really nice and kind, our room was clean and comfortable. We liked the location of the hotel because it is near to the center of the city.

Small room but enough for a layover. About 20min walk to the train station which takes me to Bonn airport.

Decent sized room that was comfortable and clean but the bathroom was very small. The shower opened out to the toilet with basically no room to spare. Towels were hanging to dry over the toilet so make sure you close it. The shower temperature kept changing from very hot to slightly cold. Had good Wifi speeds but we had issues with the power. Turned on a light and suddenly lost power to the whole room...

It was very reasonable. The location is straight way from Hauptbahnhof. Staff are friendly. In my room, toilet was outside but it was own toilet and shower is in the room. And it didn't cost much. It is good to stay in Koln inexpensively.

Not an expensive hotel, quite enough to stay for 2-3days. Quiet and peaceful. Modest but adequate Breakfast. Russian-speaking owners.

Great small Design Hotel with a perfect hostess. Especially the Deluxe room is a dream with its own Sauna. It is also ideally located, from here you can do everything on foot.

Comfortable Ibis budget hotel with convenient location for the motorway. Breakfast was simple but nice and staff were welcoming. The location is surrounded by car retailers and industrial type units but there are a variety of fast food and better restaurants within a mile. Rooms were a bit hot bit beds were comfortable and very clean.

The hotel was majorly overpriced but this was due to the euros. The location was good and it has transport into the city centre nearby and was easy to use. The hotel was clean and quiet during the night. Found the receptionist to be warm and welcoming into the hotel on arrival.

The 4th floor penthouse is a nice view but quite a hike up tight stairwells. The ceilings are low and I had to keep ducking (6ft). It had a patio/balcony area. But otherwise didn't offer much..for what it was too expensive.

Room on third floor oriented towards quiet backyard - perfect. Room clean, bathroom ok. Would I recommend it? Yes. For your money you get equal value.

Location decent but far from most of the main attractions. Quadruple room is spacious but has some flaws because of it's in the attic.

Pro's great service, huge triple room , lovely breakfast. Comfortable bed, good value for money. Con's no on site parking so it took awhile to find a space although the staff where very helpful. Bathroom is functional however it is very small. Recommended. Got such a good night's sleep!

The hotel was surprisingly good for the price we paid. It had an unique atmosphere/interior design and the employees were really nice. They had a vending machine instead of a mini-bar. Only thing I missed was A/C.

Highly recommend. The room was clean with smart storage space. The lady welcoming us didn't rush us. The breakfast was nice with many options. Croissants, pancakes, bacon, fruit, yoghurt, charcuterie, etc. Then there's the location. We were close to everything, from the Ludwig museum and the don, to the canal for a nice walk.

Location is perfect if you need a place close to the highway. And still it is quite, a forrest close by, restaurant next door. The place is clean, rooms are proper sized. Really good value for money!

Not really an airport hotel as it is quite far away from the airport still. Nice and clean hotel. There is no bar or restaurant in the hotel itself (only a vending machine) but there is quite a nice place around the corner (2 mins walk). Rooms are spacious and clean and there is free wifi.

Room size is big, full breakfast, near Cologne Central Station, walkway from station to the hotel is good for carrying the luggages. Hotel allowed to keep the luggage after checking out. Pls aware that no elevator, and might be inconvenient for heavy luggages. Staff cannot speaker English, we communicate by body language but it went very well.

A bit basic, the fact that some rooms are rented by the hour in a red light district and can become quite... noisy and us finding an empty bag of weed and the remnants of a doobie in the planter of our window when we came back from a visit of the town (it wasn't there before),... We stayed at the premises for a night. The premises are quite cheap and easy-to-find, just in one of the central busy streets. They have round the clock check-in desk. Overall, the check -in was easy and fast. The room was simple, clean and comfy with a set of standard facilities attributed for the places like those. The bed was comfortable to sleep. That they didn’t ask how we enjoyed our stay at checkout says enough about the amount of complaints they must be getting. The room was extremely hot, no air conditioning and a poorly working fan, no closets, stains in the topper they used to hide the collapsed mattresses, no hot water in the shower more often than not, having to go through 6 doors to get to our room after getting out of the elevator

Great hotel to explore Cologne. About a twenty minute walk from the main train station but there are underground stations closer. Our room was nice and more than what we needed.
