Where should I start?, I give it less than 1 star, I paid for 4 beds room, and they gave me 6beds room, in which you pay 1,88 for bedsheets that smell like someone who has been covered with. I really don't recommend it to anybody who thinks of spending a relaxing peaceful night. Because the person who thought of making these boxes of metal under beds wasn't ok. You will hear noices every 4min continuously, noices of somebody pushing these boxes from other rooms, and last thing, the bathroom smells urine. Come on we pay for a service !

Rooms were very dirty, with stained blankets and sheets, dirty walls, and a bad smell throughout. The only positive was the friendly receptionist who tried to help, but overall, the cleanliness needs serious improvement. Would not stay again.

Location great and quite place however no air circulation on the room and no possibility to cool them down during warmer days. Rooms get hotter than it is outside.

The staff at this hotel is beyond rude. We had a great time in Cologne. Everywhere we went, people were helpful, polite and just nice.

This hostel is terrible. We got a private room. The front desk staff is rude, condescending, and poorly trained.

They offer an extended checkout time if you’re staying a bit late. I asked the night staff about it, and she told me that it was 13 euros extra to check out at 3 pm. I said “ok we want to do that.” She said ok. No mention of payment.

The next morning when I get up, I go down to the desk and I’m told that extended checkout is only until 2, and not 3 like I was told last night.

Here’s the kicker. The water is out in the building until 2 today for some work. No shower. Can’t brush my teeth.

So I ask if we can stay until 3 because:
1. The night staff told me that was the extended checkout time.
2. When I told lady at the desk that, she had the nerve to tell me:”well you’re just saying that…you can say anything.” She had the nerve to call me a liar.
3. If I’m paying extra to stay extra…I think it’s fair that I can brush my teeth and shower before I travel. Full stop. When I suggested that we pay the 13 extra and stay until 30 minutes after they get their water back on, she rudely told me no and that “you need to leave right now or pay the 13 and get out at 2.” We packed our things and left.

It’s not my issue that their night staff doesn’t know their own policy. It’s not my issue that they had their water off for 2.5 hours. It’s also not my issue that their front desk staff is rude and doesn’t know how to properly deal with their guests.

I wouldn’t stay here again if they gave me the room for free.

Also, they let people run around screaming in the halls all night. And I do mean all night. They also let people scream and play music in front of the hostel at 430 in the morning. Security just sits there. I had to go down and outside to tell them to knock it off and the “security” just sat there watching me. Didn’t do anything.

If you like to sleep stay somewhere else. If you like to brush your teeth and shower stay somewhere else.

If you enjoy being called a liar and treated poorly by desk staff…this is the place for you.
