The hotel is located right on a beautiful beach with lots of seating/sunbathing options. The food and drinks at the restaurant are delicious. The environment is calm, relaxing and their staff is friendly and attentive. The rooms are super clean. The front desk staff is not the friendliest though. That is something to improve. The lobby is easy to miss when you walk in as well.

While the restaurant vibe and atmosphere are great, the service is terrible. The waitress ended her shift without passing our table service onto the next person on staff. We waited over 2 hours for our order. When we said we wanted to pay our bill and leave (drinks and apps), we were presented with the whole bill for meals we never got served. Truly disappointing.

Beautiful hotel right on the beach, we got upgraded to an ocean view room on the ground level upon arrival which was really nice. The hotel is on an unbeatable location. Getting here from Santo Domingo is about a 2 hour drive with a lot of tolls so keep some cash on you when you start the drive over.
The food menu at the hotel is huge, you'll have plenty of options. Town is around a 10-15 minute drive where you'll find more restaurants. The area is very European/French which was odd since you are in DR.
Great and helpful staff, you definitely need a car to be here as there are no taxis and most of the taxi's are motorcycles. Check out the sister restaurants Mosquito owns, Art, Beach Bar and Porto. Great surf school on property as well if you're interested in lessons.

Our large group came for an afternoon drink and stayed until after sunset for a beautiful dinner! Every single one of us absolutely loved our food! Prices were very reasonable and everything was delicious. The environment and atmosphere were all good vibes and we loved every single thoughtful detail that made our time magical and memorable! We loved the massive waves for the older kids and the walk down to the lagoon where everyone was able to play even our 2 year old! I would highly recommend this place! Both to or to dine / have drinks.

The quality and flavor of the dishes were undoubtedly worth the wait, but the lack of communication about the kitchen’s queue really dampened the experience.
My suggestion to the management would be for the waitstaff to inform customers upfront if there’s going to be a significant delay with their orders. Had I known it would take this long, I could have managed my expectations instead of sitting and waiting without any updates about the status of our food.
Transparency about wait times would go a long way in improving the overall dining experience. Great food is important, but so is respect for your customers’ time. Hopefully, this is something they’ll address, as the food itself has real potential to make this place memorable—for all the right reasons.

This review is for the restaurant/bar, not the hotel. The food was delicious, atmosphere and service was great! The servers were attentive and friendly. Definitely a place that seems more catered to US Americans and/or tourists but the food had a blend of Peruvian and Italian flavors. Expect to pay more than nearby local restaurants, but worth it if you’re not looking to try Dominican food. We ended up paying around $45 USD per person (including tip) but we got 2 appetizers, 5 meals, and 8 drinks for 5 people.

I recently stayed at Mosquito Boutique Hotel from 8/15-8/20, and my experience was far from the relaxing vacation I expected.
From the start, our rooms were riddled with issues: broken ACs, wet floors, and loud construction that we were never informed about beforehand. The worst part? A construction worker peeped into my bathroom while I was showering—an unforgivable invasion of privacy.
Service throughout the stay was atrocious. The waitstaff was consistently slow, unresponsive, and forgetful. One dinner took over three hours to be served, and requests for simple things like juice during bkfast were ignored multiple times. We also had to clean our own table during breakfast on more than one occasion.
Despite multiple room changes, our experience didn’t improve. Each room had problems, and we were even asked to pay more for a room with barely functioning AC.
Overall, this was third-rate service at a premium price. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone—especially not for a special occasion like a birthday. It was a complete disappointment.

We’ve been coming here for years but the recent visit was a big downgrade. Our room was awful- I don’t need much but I do expect a clean room & bathroom. I think they’re redoing the rooms and I’m sure once completed they’ll be great but if they continue to rent these out they should be better maintained. We didn’t complain because it was a short trip but I wouldn’t stay in that room again, absolutely not worth the price. Also the restaurant service needs help- we waited 1.5 hours for a pizza and eventually said nevermind because it never arrived. Breakfast was delicious as always.

I have to say that the place is truly amazing, it is located at a paradise beach, great food, great music. The rooms don’t have anything luxurious about them, the bathroom has no walls, etc… but if you come here, you’ll have a great and relaxing time. The only thing that I didn’t like was the service: you have to “beg” to get the attention from the servers, they are always chatting between them and it feels like you’re bothering them when you ask them for something. Which is a pity because the food is really really good, and the location is 5 stars.

We had high expectations about this since we went once just for a day and we loved it but spending a day is not like spending a couple of days this boutique hotel is not equipped to have you for a couple days and at the same time for you to feel comfortable. The room are clean but again not equipped for a long stayed. Room with no tv no iron just in case u need to iron ur clothes … nothing! And to top it all our second day there they were filming a movie next to our room!! and nobody told us about it . Our door was blocked with equipment and the crew was shouting at 8am!! Terrible!!!! Again good for you to spend the day but is not a place you want to stay for a vacation getaway oh and I don’t want to forget the stray dogs leaving pile of poop around the property
