Reviews
The problem is at the Tropical location is too LOUD all the time. Kids are yelling/ screaming and running up and down the halls, adults and housekeeping are having conversation from one end of the hall to the other. Don't expect to sleep or get rest past 8 am. Everything echos, I can hear the toilets flushing of neighbors. Also, there are signs throughout the Tropical saying no personal speakers allowed yet too many people have their own speakers and the resort does nothing to stop it. So you're at the pool forcefully listening to the music of other guests AND the music that the resort is playing, a bit of a sensory overload and highly unnecessary. I am hoping that it is more peaceful at any of the Suites, Villas, etc. Oh! And at the pools there is no such thing as a peaceful cabana. Noone controls their kids and they run everywhere around the pool. Kids should definitely be allowed to yell and scream at the beach and pool BUT there is no respect for other guests and the parents and staff do nothing about it. I had to call the front desk 3 separate occasions for noise at either 1 am or 7 am and all complaints were at the rooms. I was here at the Yropical for 7 days and I did not get the peace I wanted or needed the entire time.
Food is great! Excursions are well worth it. VIP staff are helpful. I am a new member and hoping that this past week was a fluke, but I recimmthey have staff/security walk around throughout the resort and take charge in telling people to be mindful of other guests with their volume and kids. I became a member because the Presidential and Sunrise Suites look amazing and was very quiet when I walked through on 2 seperate occassions. But I do not recommend the Tropical if you want a relaxing vacation.
For starters, the staff and service is absolutely terrible. Staff is rude and don’t even think about completing a service without money in their pockets. The only good service we received was at the bar. Moreover, my aunt made a reservation and had her husband who lives in the country, check in for them. He was able to go before she arrived. He was charged an extra free because he “lived in the country” something I’ve never heard in my life, and nothing was shown to prove this “fee”.
The rooms, TERRIBLE.
We booked a 2 bedroom stay at a luxury suite, when we arrived, we were put in the dirtiest most humid room we ever experienced. Air conditioner broken, huge puddle of water as soon as we walk in, no warning. The apartment looks nothing like what we booked, the bathroom shower didn’t even have a cover or even a liner, making a huge mess on the floor. Windows broken so bugs lived in the rooms, there were holes in the wall and counters that were covered by flower pots and other accessories to hide them. Hot water runs for about 2 minutes then turns completely cold with no fix. Check in services have no idea what they’re doing, and look at you in confusion when you make complaints. After 2 days of dealing with terrible rooms we finally were transferred and were given non-disclosure papers (we did not sign).
The food is actually okay with different varieties every day, chefs and cooks were friendly. That’s all.
The resort itself looks dirty, most of it is under construction but we were told there has not been any progress from regular visitors. The resort has so many sections and provides a shuttle that does not even arrive in timely manner. We were stuck out waiting for an hour, and had to bribe a guy to drive us in his golf cart. The golf carts are available to rent, however you must take a tour of the entire resort first, which is a waste of vacation time.
There was one receptionist at the Mexican Restaurant who was extremely rude to my sister for no reason. The minute we mentioned that we had reservations she grilled us and said “No you don’t” and prompted a back and forth as we’ve been extremely patient despite their terrible attitudes.
Casino bartenders are money hungry and will not even look at you if cash is not in your hand. If you are a local visiting or even someone that is Dominican/ Caribbean, they will not even look your way.
The food was ok.
I do not recommended if you are looking for a nice beach and hang out there since there is no beach service neither a place to hang out there.
Plus there was no Internet in the room neither could buy.
To start, our room had no hot water. My wife and two kids were expected to shower in freezing cold water, which is absolutely unacceptable. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk, I was met with indifference and a lack of urgency. To make matters worse, there was a water leak from the ceiling in the bathroom, adding to the chaos and discomfort of our stay.
I approached Jaimie, the front desk associate, to explain our situation. Instead of offering to change our room or showing any empathy, she responded with an attitude that made me feel like I was a nuisance. I specifically mentioned that my two children are autistic and that forcing them to take cold showers would likely traumatize them. Unfortunately, Jaimie showed no compassion or understanding, which was incredibly disheartening.
The overall service at this resort was abysmal, and the amenities were far from what was advertised. The food was mediocre at best, and the cleanliness of the common areas was questionable. I felt like I was staying in a rundown motel rather than a resort.
In summary, if you value your vacation and your family's well-being, do yourself a favor and steer clear of Lifestyle Resort. It’s a place that promises relaxation but delivers nothing but frustration, disappointment, and a complete lack of care. Save your money and find somewhere else to stay!
We had to switch rooms because of these issues, and due to the last-minute move, I accidentally left the pool cards in the old room without realizing. Even after explaining the situation, the staff refused to be understanding and charged us for the missing cards, despite the poor service and record of us never even using pool towels.
To make things worse, the food was very limited and low quality. There were barely any options, and nothing stood out in taste or freshness. For a supposed resort, this was a huge letdown.
Overall, this was not worth the money. Poor hygiene, bad food, unhelpful staff, and an overall bad experience. I do not recommend.
