I recently had the misfortune of staying at the Lifestyle Resort in the Dominican Republic, and it was hands down the worst resort experience of my life. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this place is a complete nightmare.

To start, our room had no hot water. My wife and two kids were expected to shower in freezing cold water, which is absolutely unacceptable. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk, I was met with indifference and a lack of urgency. To make matters worse, there was a water leak from the ceiling in the bathroom, adding to the chaos and discomfort of our stay.

I approached Jaimie, the front desk associate, to explain our situation. Instead of offering to change our room or showing any empathy, she responded with an attitude that made me feel like I was a nuisance. I specifically mentioned that my two children are autistic and that forcing them to take cold showers would likely traumatize them. Unfortunately, Jaimie showed no compassion or understanding, which was incredibly disheartening.

The overall service at this resort was abysmal, and the amenities were far from what was advertised. The food was mediocre at best, and the cleanliness of the common areas was questionable. I felt like I was staying in a rundown motel rather than a resort.

In summary, if you value your vacation and your family's well-being, do yourself a favor and steer clear of Lifestyle Resort. It’s a place that promises relaxation but delivers nothing but frustration, disappointment, and a complete lack of care. Save your money and find somewhere else to stay!

Start off by saying myself and my family are not the pickiest people in the world. This is an honest review of our experience this past week. We originally visited this resort in 2019 and had a good experience, this time we decided to do a family trip 11 of us total. 5 of us left the day before no issues getting there and so on but the rest of the family arriving the next day had major issues. From their flight being delayed (which was not the resorts fault of course) but once they got the to resort they ended up being overbooked keep in mind we booked this trip 5 months in advanced; we all paid to be in the tropical they ended up in presidential so we were split from the beginning. When they were taken to the rooms they were assigned they walked into the room which actually had people staying in the room they were then put in a random room no room key and only one full size bed for 2 adults 2 kids. We had to speak to over 5 people to get a room that had 2 beds to accommodate that part of the family but not without waiting over 5 hours trying to find a solution. They kept telling us they were overbooked in all parts of the resort and they would need to stay in that room with one bed for an additional day. 2 out of the 4 rooms we had booked had backed up toilets which they took hours to address and backed up more then 3 times durning our 6 day stay, we had to keep going back to the front desk to get our room keys to work. Had incidents where we would put the do not disturb sign and they still came in and cleaned while we were out of the rooms. They had no idea what time the transportation we paid for was picking us up we had to go back and forth the day before and the day of check out until they finally were able to get info. One of the kids lost the hotel bracelet when they tried to work with us on the $200 fee we agreed to pay $100 after paying since we know we signed something just incase it was lost we appreciated that they worked with us on the fee but then they told us we needed to leave a good review before leaving the resort and needed to show them the review before leaving when we told them we would not they literally did not let us leave they had the van stopped at the entrance and held us there when we made a scene they finally let us go after the manager came out and showed her face because all the times we asked for a manger durning our trip they were “in a meeting” Literally tried to bribe us for a good review which we already planned on not leaving. We will definitely not be returning and recommend you do your research before booking this resort or any of their extensions

Hello. This hotel is amazing with the gold bracelet. Don't use any other. The blues bracelets are not good enough. I was in the tropical and we were very pleased with the hotel. The food is good 😊

I stayed at Lifestyle Tropical and was extremely disappointed. The first room we were given was in terrible condition — the toilet clogged, the sink barely drained, the bathroom smelled awful, and the furniture was old and damaged. The sheets and walls were stained, making the whole stay feel unhygienic and uncomfortable.

We had to switch rooms because of these issues, and due to the last-minute move, I accidentally left the pool cards in the old room without realizing. Even after explaining the situation, the staff refused to be understanding and charged us for the missing cards, despite the poor service and record of us never even using pool towels.

To make things worse, the food was very limited and low quality. There were barely any options, and nothing stood out in taste or freshness. For a supposed resort, this was a huge letdown.

Overall, this was not worth the money. Poor hygiene, bad food, unhelpful staff, and an overall bad experience. I do not recommend.

Only 20% of the resort is available to a standard guest. Meaning, coffee shops, ice cream, clubs... etc you will not have access to, unless you buy into their "pyramid" "timeshare".
We came with a group of 14 people. We rented 5 rooms. We did not get the type of rooms that we were promised. They said they were sold out. They tried to split my family of 6 up into two rooms and after a fight, the double room that I was promised became available. We had checked in at 5pm and asked for an extra bed, they said it will be there soon and at 10:30 they said deal with it until tomorrow. Our toilet is leaking across the floor into the front walkway. Our shower temperature fluctuates between hot and scorching hot. The concrete wall with razor wire above it fell down and the resort is open to the streets. It has a security guard posted near it when available, but not through the whole night.
Our friends only have warm water and that doesn't last.
We were promised that if we upgraded to a gold membership, all of these issues would be corrected.
Good luck finding entertainment and there is no teen club.

There is so much I can say about this resort that I don’t even know where to start! The room, location and especially the staff were an absolute dream! I want to thank Marianna for her wonderful service that made us feel more at home than we thought we could. She was very thorough in providing us with all the information we needed and walking us through every situation step by step. We will be back soon and for a long time. Definitely recommend! 🍹

Everything is great, any drinks and food on the beach, separate sun loungers for two.

To start with, this was my first Caribbean resort stay, with an all inclusive option. Overall the experience was good. The food was decent, the pools were great, and the activities on the resort were fun.

There's some sort of hierarchy when it comes to your resort status, and based on that you'll have access to different parts of the resort. I think you have to be an owner to really get access, but I'm not sure. They never really explain it anywhere. We had access to several of the buffets, two beaches, and many of the bars.

Pick up at the airport was included in our stay. The trip to the resort was a bit of a drive, and they charged $55 to take us back at the end of our trip. Arrival was smooth, they gave us a map and stood us what areas we had access to, as well as the schedule of events on the resort.

Our room was really great. AC kept it a cool 19C the whole time. The shower was large, and the balcony overlooked one of the pools. The bed was comfy, there was water, beer, and soda in the fridge that was stocked daily. TV, coffee maker, etc etc. Pretty standard stuff for a decent hotel. Weirdly the safe in the room was extra, if you wanted to use it.

My only complaint about the room was the water in the shower. Hot water didn't work all the time, and occasionally the water pressure would drop to a trickle. There were outdoor showers at every pool and the beach entrances though, so you could always rinse off before going back to your room.

The buffet we used, Casa Blanca, was great. The food offered changed every day, and they had several cooking stations that offered things like grilled fish, smoothies, omelettes, and pasta. There was always salad and fruit available during meal times. Some very picky people may have trouble finding something they like, but there's a lot to choose from. The quality was decent. I would've liked more local foods offered, but what they had was good enough.

The staff mostly spoke English and were very helpful. The salespeople are very pushy though, so you have to be firm with them. They sell pictures, excursions, cigars, and massages. The massages are really nice, and if you book one the rest of them will leave you be. That's how we did it anyway 😅.

If I had to pick one complaint, it's the amount of stairs. There are stairs everywhere. I'm not sure if there are more handicapped accessible areas on the resort, but many places we visited didn't have an option other than stairs. Staying on the third floor really helped offset the buffet.

Will never go again awful customer service, I used to come here with my crew from New York to model and my photographers made it a yearly thing even got a membership. DO NOT RECOMMEND they were supposed to refund me it’s been a month and nothing. They lost me and my friends business. Customer service treat you like you are not paying. FOOD IS ABSOLUTELY INTOXICATING AND DRINKS IN MOST LOCATIONS BAD QUALITY

The salespeople got incredibly annoying after not that long at all, and it really affected my overall enjoyment. I can't count the amount of times someone would approach myself or my wife to try and rope us into a timeshare presentation with promises of a gift basket or just a brief 15-minute tour. And no, asking me if I want a massage again doesn't make it sound any more appealing on the third time around. It would be one thing if these people were street vendors just trying to make a living or provide for their families, but they were all staff from the resort that we had already paid for. These human pop up ads very nearly destroyed my overall opinion on the resort experience all on their very own.
The unlimited drinks were nice, but the food was really hit or miss. Some of the food was great, especially at the a la carte restaurants specializing in local cuisine. However, it was still a roll of the dice to find out whether or not breakfast, lunch or dinner would be really good or if it would give you a case of food poisoning bad enough to lay you out for the next two days. The beach was not very clean. It was common to see trash either washed up on shore or left behind by the guests. The room was pretty nasty, no getting around it. The mattress was one of the worst I've ever slept on, and the pillows were no better. The corners and cracks in the room were covered in mold, especially around the bathroom area. And then there's the roaches. Oh God, so many roaches. Every day, every night, you could count on seeing at least two or three of them scurrying around the floor and walls. One even got on the bed and attempted to give my wife's legs a free massage of his own even as she attempted to fall asleep. Needless to say, there wasn't a whole lot of rest to be had that night. The grounds, pools and buildings have definitely seen better days. I certainly don't blame the very sweet cleaning lady for all these issues, but it certainly doesn't seem as though the money that's being made through the resort isn't being put back into it.
