Ramses Hilton Hotel & Casino

A group of 30+ people came together at Ramses Hilton for a business event. Half of the amount of people also stayed as guests overnight in this hotel for 5-7 nights.

I start with the positive. The execution of the event was flawless. The meeting room was clean and tidy, lunch and dinner was great (portions could be larger). The service at the breakfast/lunch/dinner and the meeting room was excellent and they really made sure all wishes are fulfilled.

The AC in the meeting room was not very flexible - we had to always talk to the manager to switch it on and off to not sit in an ice fridge.

The rooms booked were unfortunately not a pleasant experience. They were very outdated, it was hard to rest due to the noise, mold in the bathroom, and people next door kept smoking in the rooms. That smoke could be smelled in our rooms next door although the windows/doors were closed. For non-smokers really not a pleasant experience. I woke up in the night - my room smelled after cigarettes. If you like to use the AC then you cannot change the temperature. It is either ice cold or you turn it off completely. Theoretically, you can turn the regulator to "warm" but it makes no difference in the end. It is always ice cold (16 degrees celsius).

I stayed 7 nights and my bedsheets did not get changed once. When I addressed this at my checkout when the receptionist asked for feedback, I got told that I had the option to change my room. I don't understand why I have to change my room in order to get the bedsheets changed. A room change would have been inconvenient and this was not an option for me. Also, I had to order everything to the room which are usually standard (hairdryer, hangers, slippers, etc). The bathroom did not offer any items apart from soap. Very disappointing experience considering the cost per night.
