Al Moudira Hotel in Luxor

Omar, the tour guide organized by Al Moudira, was truly the highlight of our entire trip to Egypt. He picked us up in Aswan and drove us to Luxor, stopping along the way at Kom Ombo, Edfu, and Esna. Each stop was thoughtfully paced and incredibly informative, and his storytelling brought the history to life in a way that felt personal and engaging rather than scripted. Omar is the most personable, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind tour guide we had during our travels. His passion for Egypt is obvious, and he made every site more meaningful by sharing context, history, and local insight. He also took us to a fantastic spot in Luxor for lunch, which was the perfect break after a full morning of exploring. We feel incredibly lucky to have spent those days learning from him and would recommend Omar without hesitation to anyone visiting Egypt. An unforgettable experience from start to finish.

great property, very creative with beautiful ambience , but the staffs are not warm gave a wrong room to my adult son with 2 bed and when asked they replied that they are nit charging for other room, that is the most abnormal and awkward reply we ever received from a luxury hotel. also we went to their farm to table restaurant with a huge expectation but it was a disaster -firt they didn't have any item we wanted to order and taste was horrible and service was no upto the mark . the stay was not worth at all. we met the main person , she was lovely and we feel without her this place will be nothing .

This hotel is different - in the very best sense. Great architecture with gardens, courtyards and water features. The pool area is lovely. Food was locally sourced and excellently prepared. Very professional staff.

The hotel was great, and staying here felt very reassuring. The service was also good, and there were two shuttle buses a day to the Luxor Hotel. Overall, I was very satisfied.

The Al-Moudira is a very unique property in so many ways, sitting a few miles outside the city in a green, peaceful, farming area. It consists of many interconnected low-rise buildings and courtyards, landscaped beautifully, with a very large luxurious pool area. The rooms are in the style of an old Egyptian villa with high ceilings, thick walls, and filled with antiques and period pieces. We were happy to experience the peace and quiet of the property and to feel like we've stepped back in time. Having said that, there are a few things to be aware of -- first, the location, it's not possible to walk to anything. Also, although the breakfast buffet was very delicious, we found the service quite lackluster: our table never had a menu, I only noticed them on some other tables; one morning we ordered tea and it came in a teapot, the next day we were told it was self-service in the buffet; and staff were not terribly attentive during the meal. Kind of a shame because the food was delicious and the outdoor courtyard is lovely, but we just didn't feel as if anyone was looking after us. We're glad we did it once, but if we were to go back to Luxor, we'd stay downtown for more options.

I want to live at this hotel - everything is special and thoughtfully placed. Wish I’d had more time - don’t sleep on the food here either, this one probably the best meal I had in Egypt. Everything was so fresh and flavorful and good - amazing place.

Met and exceeded all expectations (which were very high). Beautiful, romantic oasis that was a great home base for sight seeing. Food and service were impeccable.

A perfect 10 out of 10! I was hesitant at first, wondering if the photos would match reality, and I’m glad to say my expectations were fully met. The hotel looks just like in the pictures. It feels as if time has stood still here since the early 20th century: antique interiors, books available for reading, grand high arches, and spacious halls – truly an oasis in the midst of bustling, crowded Egypt.
The rooms are cleaned regularly, and all bathroom fixtures are spotless—almost as if they were just installed. There is no intrusive music, neither in the restaurants nor by the pool—this place is designed for escaping the hustle and bustle of the world and giving your mind a break from constant thoughts. It makes you want to lounge by the pool all day, reading books.
The hotel grounds invite you to take peaceful walks through the inner garden and the herb garden, where various plants are grown. The staff is incredibly attentive and courteous. The attention to detail from the hotel's designer is truly impressive—it feels like every little thing has been carefully thought out.
This hotel is worth every penny. I will definitely return.

We had lunch at Almoudira the hotel is amazing very well thought out. The Bazar has unique pieces and the food was an interesting take on Egyptian dishes. But the vibe was off as it felt there was so many staff doing renovations. And the restaurant staff weren’t the friendliest people.
