Hotel Hostal Cuba

The aperitif on the sky terrace is impressive: cocktails are expertly made + the view is stunning. However, it's so disappointing that they don’t serve even a small snack, like chips or nuts! I mean come on. For a place this lovely, adding a few complimentary bites would really elevate the experience. think about it ;)

August 2024 I visited this bar for my sisters hen; we wanted to have some drinks and dance. Unfortunately we had a numerous amount of racist encounters. The most disheartening part was this was projected from the staff members as well as locals. I was told ‘it’s not my fault you don’t speak Spanish…’ we waited at the bar for 30+ minutes to be served as we were being ignored but the people beside us were being served… it’s a shame our skin colour affected their level of hospitality. I expected to have a good time with friends, but instead, I left feeling hurt and disappointed. Racism is no place in any setting and it’s important that businesses create a safe and inclusive space for all customers. I hope that Hotel Cuba will take this feedback seriously, and implement measures to ensure all patrons, regardless of their race, are treated with respect and the dignity they deserve. I will not be returning and I urge others to consider their choice before visiting.

We went to the Cuba bar on Monday 26th August 2024. The bar itself is nice and a fun night out. However, the bar staff are racist and if you are an ethnic minority I would avoid. We went to buy a drink and the bartender (unfortunately we didn’t get his name) served all the Spanish/ Caucasian people behind us.

We raised concerns and one customer commented to say it’s because we are not Spanish. It’s sad as an ethnic to experience this type of behaviour in 2024 and I would highly recommend for the establishment to retrain staff
