4R Salou Park Resort I

Definitely not a 4 star hotel, took ages to check in there was only 1 person on the reception desk and it took soo long. The hotel was absolutely full of groups of kids, shouting from balcony to balcony late at night, running up and down the corridors. This didn’t bother me too much but understandably would bother some. Some of the staff are friendly, whole time I was here I only dealt with 2 friendly staff who were willing to help. Overall I would recommend for a quick break away not somewhere i would stay for 1 week plus.

Stayed for a week at this hotel. All staff were friendly. We had a room on 9th floor. Good size and the balcony had 2 chairs with table and 2 sunbeds on. Total sun trap. Bathroom good size, large shower. Only one mirror in room (bathroom). Plenty of sockets and hairdryer in bathroom, although not powerful. Standard toiletries to use. Breakfast plenty to pick from including fresh fruits, yogurt, bread, rolls, cereal, cooked, pastries. Different milk options available and diet items. We were here during the country wide power cut and the staff dealt with this to the best of their abilities. This night as all other bars and restaurants were closed we managed to eat in the hotel restaurant. Food was fresh and tasty for 16 euro buffet style. Pool area was ok with plenty of sunbeds but the large groups of kids were off putting and very loud. There is a terrace area above with sunbeds available. Local area; shop round to left with fresh bread, cheese and meats etc. Reasonably priced. Great cafe bar directly opposite. Bus to and from Reus airport 2 mins walk opposite Burger King. 2.20 euro per person one way. Bars and restaurants everywhere within walking distance. Local land train stop just opposite hotel. Beach opposite hotel is lovely. Stepped access to right however if you turn left and follow the pavement round to right you can assess with no steps. All sand, calm waters with little beach bar. Sunbeds to hire 10 euro, chairs 5 euro and sunshade 10 euro. Buy a cool bag from local shop, fill with your own drinks and your set for day. My Husband would go back to shop for fresh bread, cheese and ham for lunch not even 4 euro for us both and delicious. Paddleboard hire 15 euro that's for an hour I believe.

Overall great, food was amazing, everything in the hotel worked. But one bad thing, the hotel room that I was staying in had a really bad smell of sewage from it, even after showering, flushing the toilet and using the sink.

The beds were very uncomfortable and the hotel in general quite old. The buffet for breakfast was really good though and not far from the center
