This hotel is absolutely not recommended.

Their only goal seems to be to take as much money from you as possible during your stay. You have to pay for everything, even drinking water (€2.50 per liter), and even children's toys cost extra. You're not allowed to bring your own bottle into the restaurant, and even using the scale costs money.

We were a group of four and needed four bottles of water per day just for lunch and dinner, which amounts to €10 per day. Over 10 days, that’s €100 just for water during meals in the restaurant.

The staff is unfriendly, especially the lifeguard and the bar manager. The food is the same every day; after 10 days, we were completely fed up with it.

Moreover, the bathrooms in the rooms smell bad, and the hallway smells like a chicken farm.

How this hotel received 4 stars is beyond us.

We will never come back here.

Only thing good about it is the reception people.
Room smells like there's a dead rat there
Trying to make you pay for whatever you do
Worst restaurant ever everyday almost the same food with very little options to chose from
You can see how bad management you have with their nonsense rules..
Never again..

i've been with a group of 17 teenagers and 3 adults (mini-camp); the location is good, though the adjacent beach to the hotel is super-crowded during summer months, but at least there are other options nearby (walking distance); the accommodation is great (big, spacious, cosy rooms); the food options are great, the only problem is with the water. I mean, I can't really understand why there can't just simply be an option of 'normal'/'tap'/free water that is easily accessible and doesn't require to go through multiple negotiations with the waiters on that; water! it's a 4 star-hotel and you pay up-front for an all-inclusive concept, and then you can't get hold of water unless you have multiple discussions with the waiters. c'mon!

otherwise, a chill stay at the hotel. close to port-aventura, and on the platja-larga a number of water-front activities. price-quality: probably fair (but solve the bloody water-issue :))

Just a quick review, just arrived back today 11/6/24,had a lovely well earned break with daughter in-laws. Lovely resort, lovely room ,nice and clean, couldn't really fault much. Nice beach area but could do with deck chairs, pool area was nice and clean, but a little quiet for our liking, could have done with a bit of music playing in back ground, hotel shop sells rubber dinghys and other pool inflatables, but be aware these are not allowed in pool , so don't know why they sell them 🤷, food ok but evening tea not so good, entertainment hit and miss, but we made our own entertainment, would I return, yes had an enjoyable 4 night break.

Very nice Hotel, well appointed, lovely friendly staff, according to some, not as good as last year, which we was told in 2023, was outstanding?, but lovely clean pools, great restaurant facilities, really good gym, it seems like it's own sandy beach at the end of the road right next to the hotel, ( very steep road), parking is very hap hazard, ( very rarely a parking space). Views from the front of the hotel overlooking the beach pools and sea are great, but side rooms, and you ll get a stone wall, beautifully clean, amazing foyer, leading to reception, and an open through floor view point to the executive bar - that still over looks the beach and the pool, lovely quiet location, plenty of restaurants within a few minutes walk, water sports on lots of near by spaces (, jet skis, paddle bording, snorkeling and fir beginners too ), with a huge choice too, loads of little enclaves within a 10 minute walk, all close to the rocky coast line, flip flops are pointless , due to the hilly area, get some good trainers, it makes sense. Great place, loads of transport links from here and only 25 mins to the Reus airport from here.

I was in this hotel in 2011. They served gone off food at breakfast. It was terrible. I spent the week sick. Stay away at all costs.

Lovely area, with a lovely beach. I recommend snorkelling, as there is plenty of fish to see. The hotel, food was lacking and cold. There is not a great deal of variety. No water available, you have to go to the local supermarket and buy your own! Also, the rooms dont have kettles. We ate lunch out every day, and the food was better there!

Room is very spacious and absolutely lovely was definitely shocked with how nice this hotel is, big bathroom, good sized private balcony, the reception and restaurant is great too, good tasting food and service 10/10. Great area to be in. Very very good value for the price, will definitely be back In future and will recommend to anyone i know visiting Salou

Me and my fiancè have recently got back from Salou, Spain where we stayed in Hotel Cala Font for 7 days.

Location:
The hotel is situated right on the beach front and surrounded by a variety of shops and restaurants, we ate out for lunch everyday and the food was always lovely.

Hotel room:
Our room was situated on the 5th floor opposite side to the beach so the view from our balcony was trees and the road, I wasn't to fond of the view but my fiancè was thankful to get some shade, I will be paying that little extra in future to get a room with a better view.

Room cleanliness:
Can't complain at all with the cleanliness of our room, the hotel cleaners would turn up everyday to sort out bedding, sweep the floors etc, the staff were also kind.

Food & drinks:
Me and my fiancè don't drink alcohol so I can't speak for bar services. We decided to book half board so we would eat breakfast & dinner in the hotel, food was hit or miss i think it just depends on your palate, i also have to highlight that breakfast drinks are free (juice & water) but drinks for dinner are not free.

Staff:
Never had any issues with any of the staff at the hotel, most of the staff i spoke to were approachable, friendly, and helpful.

Pool & Sunbeds:
Hotel policy states that no sunbeds can be reserved, and if towels are set down on sunbeds without those who own the towels present for longer than 20 minutes, then towels will be removed so other hotel users can make use of the sunbeds. During our stay we never noticed this policy in motion, i witnessed plenty of hotel stayers putting towels down on sunbeds and vacating the hotel premesis to go down the beach, this was pretty annoying considering the ratio between sunbeds and hotel stayers was scarce, you had to get out by the pool and put your towel down before 10am (the hotel also states that the pool and sunbed area opens at 10am but it opened at 9am). If you manage to get a sunbed then the ambiance of the area is nice, plenty of sunshine and umbrellas for shade, also both child and main pool were cleaned overnight. If you don't get a sunbed then head down to the beach, its a small sandy beach but absolutely beautiful.

Excursions:
Me & my fiancè booked our holiday through TUI who offered a small range of excursions which had transfer coaches that would pick you up outside the sunclub hotel which was a couple minutes walk up the road from Hotel Cala Font, they were always on time and the staff were super helpful, however I can't say so much for the excursions TUI offered without transfers (had to use public transport), we were given the wrong bus number by A TUI rep which led us in to great difficulty, we were directed back and fourth between bus drivers 4 times as they have very little knowledge of the english language and didn't understand what we were saying, thankfully the bus ticket office provided us with the correct information in the end (so if you stay at cala font and go to Caribe Water Park, catch the 74 Port Aventura bus on the opposite side of the bus ticket office and stay on there until your dropped off right outside Caribe waterpark & ferrari land, don't bother using google, it was useless).

Overall satisfaction:
Hotel Cala Font was well worth the money we paid to stay there for 7 days, the scenery and restaurants were worth their weight in gold so we will definitely be returning in the near future.

In general it is good hotel located in nice area. It has two swimming pools: one for adults with jacuzzi and one for kids with entertainment. Pools are cleaned every evening for the next day. There is a bar near the pool with drinks and snacks. Room are big and nice. View is amazing but you have to pay for it. We enjoyed watching sunset with a glass of wine and slice of Jamon. My only irritation was at the reception. When we had to pay upfront for entire stay before we could get a key to the room. We were with a tired crying child and we had to wait for all the formal things (like 20 minutes) before we could actually go with a key. But I think this is just a policy and staff is good in general.
